Books, albums, films and, what the hell, let's throw paintings in there, only get recognition if they're either pretty close to flawless, or their flaws make them endearing. In either case, the people who love them do so exactly as they are.
Video games, on the other hand, are inherently modular. No matter how fucking perfect a vidya is, it can always be improved, or added to, without fucking with its balance. That's provided the new content/tweak isn't completely retarded of course, but who would say no to Dante from the Devil May Cry series™ being added to SMT3? Nobody said no to that.
And then you get to Dark Souls, the obvious reason why you're mad about people's complaints. Dark Souls 1 was perfectible. It could have been improved on. Instead of improvement, we got DsFix and improved multiplayer capability, that'll be 40 bucks please. You've got essentially the same game, again. They could have at least tried to improve it, and they did not. It's not a loving re-release, it's a cash grab. And a switch port.
