I've enjoyed Zachtronics games recently but some can be a bit poorly balanced with how it grades your solutions. Try some older ones that are more about on your feet thinking. Try Intelligent Qube, Kula World, and Bunmei Koro Koro Game EGG

Do math instead. Master factorization.

Professional programmer here. Factorio is a lot like designing a system's architecture. It is as easy to make spaghetti code if you don't design it beforehand too.
Anyway, if you want to improve at programming, you should be programming, not playing games like a lazy fuck.

The only way you can train your programming skills is by programming, giting gud at puzzle games will leave you good at puzzle games, not programming.
I'd recommend some reading on Mathematical Logic and working on your mathematical intuition of stuff if your main objective is to git gud at programming
That being said, I think the Talos Principle is a fun pass time puzzle game to play here and there, but you can also take a look on the more boring side of puzzle games, like Spacechem and Opus Magnum.

Was about to make a thread on this, but then searched the catalog first and found this.
I am also looking for puzzle games, preferably with the following aspects:
>Lots of content
>Straight up puzzles, no puzzle-focused adventure games, puzzle-platformers, or other shit
>Not braindead easy, but also not Zachtronics levels of shit, I played Spacechem and I am far too retarded for that shit, only made it to the 4th world before I started getting fucked up.

actual games with programming (visual programming) like Carnage Heart

Check out Cogs. It's a nice little sliding block puzzle game with a cute steampunk aestetic. Very comfy. It's not particularly hard, but getting gold in both move and time challenges on every level is going to take some effort.
You can find the Linux version here: http://psvbjbjy7s5xf4qp.onion/archive/vidya/cogs_linux.tar.gz

I'd assume so today, but I learned it a long time ago so I dunno. Start simple writing a Hello, World and running it through IDA Pro and figuring out how things are put together, then how to step through and make changes at runtime via x64dbg. Or if doing it on Linux, objdump and radare2.

Depends on how you think, SpaceChem's probably harder on average than TIS-100, especially at the endgame. The Sequence Sorter is harder than all the other puzzles in the main campaign combined, though, and there will be at least half a dozen that are twice as tough in the bonus campaign. Good luck with the Prime Factor Calculator and the Sequence Gap Interpolator.

>The Sequence Sorter is harder than all the other puzzles in the main campaign combined
Yea, I just hit a wall and couldn't make any progress at all. It was pissing me off. I finished SpaceChem and while it was hard, I don't think I ever got stuck quite so hopelessly.
Today I decided that it's time to stop sucking and I finally solved it by drawing a pseudocode solution on paper and then implementing it.
