Round two.

Summer is almost there and I hate the sun, I hate the heat, I hate everything that summer is made of.

So let's have another thread dedicated solely to games/stages/locations covered in snow.

On the last thread we had

Light horror shooter made by slavs. Takes place in frozen nuclear ice breaker. Has some great ice and water physics and trippy ass story that escalates quickly.

I liked it a lot.

Horror point and click. Haven't played it yet.

Another horror shooter? Not sure, haven't played it yet.

>Kona

Some survival game that is supposedly pro-SJW but has breath-taking visuals. I haven't played it yet, and not sure if I would, since femnazis were mentioned. If some anon can clarify shit, I would be grateful.

>Winter Voices

Psychological TRPG about some suicidal emo girl. Presentation is cool and gameplay looks fun enough, but games turns into a slog quickly as fights feel more like puzzles than battles and overall it's just not very fun.

Though if any of you is into some slow and methodological games you might give it a shot.

So there we go boys, if I forgot anything major, fill it in, and also bring your favourite winter games and stages.

Next one I'm gonna play is Year Walk. I'm not huge fan of point and clicks, but art style intrigues me enough to give it a go.

It honestly did run fine for me back then, with something like a C2Q Q6600 and a GTS 250, I think, done so many rebuilds since then.

Clock speed is the only thing that matters with performance in Cryostasis but it's not a very good game so I don't think it matters anyway.

Skyrim and Skyrim VR sounds like the games you're looking for OP, I reccomend grabbing some creation club mods to further enhance your playthrough

This is probably Nvidia's fuckery as much as it being single-core. They purposely gimp their old cards' performance with new drivers, it wouldn't surprise me if something similar happened with old games using Nvidia tech.

Can't remember if you played it already, but there's an unintentional Horror-Comedy game called "Until Dawn" that you might enjoy. (If you don't mind watching someone because its a PS4 exclusive)

Finished Year Walk.

It does look good and the story is ok, but fucking hell do I hate point and clicks.

Steep is okay. It's ostensibly a snowboard/winter sports game, but while it's no SSX in terms of fun gameplay, it largely focuses on the open mountain environments, which you can navigate through various means like wingsuit, paragliding, or even walking. I play it when I miss the mountains.

HIDE is some shitty meme game.

It looks cool but "gameplay" is just walking one singular path to find all text plates, but since you walk so slow and if you don't know the path from get go you're guaranteed to restart a bunch of times it's a huge time waster that just isn't fun.

Can't recommend it.

The Long Dark is great, will really make you feel the cold and hypothermia setting in. Just forget about the pointless tumblr story and jump right into sandbox on hard. It's way more fun than being coddled in the tutorial.
