Even long running series can suffer some of the older works not getting much attention, at least at present. First games and favorites amongst older fans being rather exempt, for obvious reasons, but some otherwise good games fall by the wayside, at least as time goes on, and obviously some stuff isn't as popular out west as it is natively, assuming it's even popular out there (Tsugunai, which I posted higher up, is one of those games that's neither). In cases like such, you might be better off requesting/commissioning artists, because I get the feeling most these days sadly aren't apt to care otherwise (that's not to say act like an obnoxious waifufag in drawthreads though, and even then, it's a fucking crapshoot).
If you're really desperate, you might do some hard digging, especially through Japanese sites. I remember helping some anon years back who was looking for better res art (official, in that case) for Dragon Valor, which took a day or two to find much tangible for that wasn't a shitty upscale, and in the process of finding the artist's own apparently site, also had the boon to discover that said artist had also worked on another game I myself really liked, albeit in the background as environmental design instead of character/monster designs.

Jade Empire was great. Classic BioWare story, fun combat, interesting characters, nice environments, and two chicks at the same time if you play your cards right. A bit on the short side, though. I wish it was longer, or the same team had been able to do a sequel before EA squandered the studio. The Saturn game is fantastic. Either play it with the undub or the Japanese version. The translation is awful and even offensive but it seems the game itself is unharmed. Kurenai from Red Ninja End Of Honor, i bought this game for my PS2 solely because i thought the girl on the cover was cute, as a game it didn't pay off (unlike DOAX2); it plays like a clunky, faster tenchu and has a worse camera than god hand, now this doesn't really matter in said game but red ninja is all about stealth and outmaneuvering your enemies in case they spot you or don't fall for your charms (you can do a sexy dance and they'll be mesmerized, then you can kill them the moment they try to grope you) so not being able to control the camera with the right joystick or even the L2/R2 buttons while you're running is a fucking travesty, you wanna turn the camera you have to stay still, otherwise the camera follows you and goes apeshit whenever you approach a corner or try to do a wallrun.

It's not the worst of it, the wire is a one shot on anything unaware when you first launch it, but it can trigger an alert that lasts for a couple frames at most if you mistime the second press that snaps the wire back to kill, meaning S ranks are an absolute fucking bitch to get if you start trying to use a strategy relying on those kills, if it wasn't for that you could just breeze through most levels and get easy S ranks along the way.
Of course that only affects people with terminal autism like myself

For BoF2 It's best to use an SNES emulator and install the translation patch I posted before. The game is playable without it but you'll get a lot of unclear dialog and yes/no questions that don't make sense. I remember at least one yes/no question where yes and no are switched. Trust me it's worth it.
I don't think anyone has made a BoF1 re-tranlation. The main difference between the SNES and GBA versions are the GBAs lower encounter rate (exp & drops are adjusted for this) and updated UI. Honestly you can skip 1 if you want it's a little bland imo.
For BoFIII and BoFIV I don't really think it matters if you play the PS1 or any re release version.
