Cornering a marketing on some material, brokering information, cross guild espionage and sabotage, crashing a server market with no survivors.

Not every online games pvp is some pillar hugging cucks in an instanced arena. Sometimes playing the more subtle game is the more satisfying payoff in the longrun.

I started a merchant's guild/cartel in Wrath of the Lich King.

We'd agressivly buy out items that moved at a slow enough pace that we could get them as they went on the market, but were bought out fast enough we could usually make the money back the same day. Frost orbs and their ilk were the best shit for this. Then the guild would go in turns overcutting each other to drive the price up. So Hebe would put his up for 1000g then Schlomo would do his for 1500g to cause Hebe's to get bought on as Rosenthal put his up for 2000g and so on.

Appearently it was against the ToS or something and we all got banhammered as a result.

I'm trying to figure out Warframe's economy, but with a lack of automated selling services like an auctionhouse it's hard to get a grasp of.

I remember being instrumental in completely ruining several items on the kingdom of loathing market by undercutting prices, resulting in an all out war that completely ruined the economy for those items and made it pointless to sell them.

A few friends and I came into darkscape(It was an official version of runescape with trading and death penalties inspired by eve online but it lasted less than a year) and started aggressively raising mining and acrobatics to the highest we could. We aggressively raised these and timed our schedules so one person would be mining constantly at all times. We only mined at certain spots that had shortcuts to run away when higher level players came to mine and would try to kill us on sight for hogging everything and circle around to mine more as they gave chase. We would meet up at peak times and buy all of said mineral on the market from regular players and resell it all combined with our massive stocks of it at a markup that increased just a little bit each day until it became a massive markup with the sellers raising their prices little by little each day along with us because their shit was selling. Long story short is that the end result of this inflated and ruined entire sections of the games economy before Jagex casualized the game and it wasn't fun anymore to fuck with players so we all stopped playing.

I don't even remember what mineral it was but as far as I know because of us the games marketplace was irreversibly fucked until the game shut down.

I also used to pretend to be a girl in a few MMOs along with a friend doing smalltime scams for ingame cash. It wasn't even about the money tbh I just had fun getting away with it.

I played warframe fpr a few months and made my plat buy buying and reselling veiled rivens. When I was burned out on the actual game I would browse the internet while advertising in trade chat for hours at a time. I think I single handedly crashed the prices on them for a few weeks when I was starting out since I was undercutting everyone else.

not me, but on kronos1 (private wow vanilla server), there's this guild called 'valar mughilis' that is entirely comprised of low-level (((gnomes))) that manipulate the AH prices. they'll buyout all of a single item, such as fadeleaf, then put it up on the AH again for a higher price of gold.

I’ve done low energy trolling of friendly merchants on tf2

They would want my items and and try to give me crap for them. I would just ignore them while occasionally sending messages in trade chat to keep them occupied, wasting their time.

Last merchant I did this to I had waiting about a week before I blatantly told him I don’t want to trade.
