If memory serves, back in classic there was one light-focused undead NPC in the Argent Dawn, though I forget if he was supposed to be a priest or a paladin. This is actually true. The Horde is an Elfish Horde. According to character data (taken from realmpop.com) 34% of the Horde is Blood Elves, compared to the next highest at Orc of 15%. The only thing keeping the Horde together is Blood Elves. Now it'll be Blood Elves and Nightborne.

I remember for example two NPCs who would wander Stormwind, a human and a dwarf, and the human had a mana bar while the dwarf didn't. Then he gets the Death Knight player to seek out a Red Dragon skeleton to raise as a mount. In the process you get the option to either peacefully seek out the mount, kill some Red Dragons, or kill every single Red Dragon you encounter. Doing so requires going far out of your way, and if you successfully do so Bolvar makes an Undertale reference.
After that he stops being relevant to the plot because Blizzard rewrote the last two patches of Legion months in advance and dropped the Class Halls entirely. Nothing happens with the Lich King, the Ebon Blade, or Death Knights in Battle for Azeroth aside from a lone quest that's more or less a repeat of the Red Dragon thing, but with an NPC Death Knight that you presumably stop by killing him.
Also, one of the vampire elves from Northrend joins the Horde, for… seemingly no reason at all. Some people are suspecting he's a repeat of Malkorok, the Orc who was created in Mists of Pandaria to be Garrosh's right-hand man and to pad out the inevitable Siege of Orgrimmar boss numbers.
