I never understood why this trash kind of shooters is popular. Basically 0% skill involved, just pure luck and usage of specific loadouts. Sure there are some chinks who sink 20 hours per day into it and have absurd K:D but even so, the average casual can kill them if they use some broken gadget like wallhacks or explosives. In other words your skill matters little, because there are a shitload of gadgets that can kill you out of nowhere in bullshit ways and you can't counter them. This is the embodiment of abhorrent FPS design.

Well i remember that glory when grinded for it. Also anguish of facing players with it. Because it was like you see enemy and if you just millisecond too late next thing you see is the cone of tracers flying into your face and your are dead. You can't escape. With such cone they never missed. It really pushed your to the edge to be really fast with your own shooting. 1887 really rocked. Only thing it had limited range. No problem just carry UMP. And then i realized that i jsut kill people with UMP without bothering to switch to the 1887. It took to much time for tempo of my play to switch back and forth between shooty and long range gun. Also air-support was really annoying and demanded stinger. So i just run around with UMP and mowed down users of supposedly overpowered 1887. Yes they sometimes they killed me in the close combat (angry, this is not fair that somebody kills me i should win all the time) but they lost in everything else, this is a thing about imbas canceling each other.
Only thing that can be called overpowered was noobtube + OMA in the domination and bombing gamemodes. You simply cannot take the point or place the bomb with this thing in play so these modes turned into TDM instead of playing fro an objectives as they were supposed to be. This i agree is op.

The Pacific front maps with 64 player was great experience, but some of the Eastern front maps were bizarre and poorly made. The franchise is more like a combination of several franchises under the same banner, with subtitles denoting where they specifically fall on the map. It's why we didn't see any of that zany crazy shit from Black Cocks III in WWII, because they're fundamentally different games.
