When it comes to speakers, in my experience all you have to do is the following
>go with a well established brand
>go for 50 buckaroonies or more
You're bound to find something good. I bought my logitech speakers for ca. 50 bucks (they were on sale at the time for the actual value is higher). They have great stereo sound, clear audio and insane bass, if you are so inclined.
Obviously you shouldn't just go with a brand that is well known because it's recently become popular or some such. You should go with a brand that has a reputation for quality.
Logitech, Sennheiser and Sony all produce some pretty good and affordable audio equipment.
>>14792505
I'm inclined to agree with you. However, starting a sentence in a new paragraph with "and" is not particularly good form either.
A discussion about hardware is not nececarrily bad though.
Reminder that headsets are garbage and that you should probably invest in speakers and some cheap headphones/ earbuds for the few occasions where you need them.
High quality Headphones only make sense if you have the money to spend and/or the audio requirements.

They're not particularly good for their price range and they're not that cheap either., I'll give them that they're not easy to break but that's it.
They're also closed with poor isolation and poor pads with a sound that's neutral and expose flaws in the audio too much, you can EQ them to get "footsteps tech™" but outside of that they're not particularly great for vidya or for listening to music because unsurprisingly they're studio monitors made for that usage pretty much exclusively,
I'm under the impression that most people who hype those are people who got their first non-shit headphones and think it's the end-all be all of headphones granted endgame headphones are way over hyped since you will never have the audio to feed them properly
When you compare it against chinkshit like Superlux, Takstar and Monoprice who all do headphones that can hold their own against $150 ones for less than $60 it quickly loses it's appeal.

These are "industry standard" so its just too fucking easy to recommend them. They're solid headphones no doubt and if you're a beginner when it comes to "professional" level cans, then by all means get the 7506
Still, they're from 1991. If you want a newer design with a tad better sound isolation and build quality I recommend above. I had an older pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M40s and they're still alive. The 7506 will ALWAYS be the go-to for people just getting into this shit though and I even recommend getting them as your first pair before exploring other brands.

because for their MSRP/price point they're probably the best you can buy. i never found them to sound flat, but then again i primarily listen to dadrock. i found them to be perfect for gaymen, in that had a good sound balance in say RO2 or something where there's bassy thumps of artillery and sharp cracking of rifles. i loved them, and i'm going to buy another pair when they're on sale where i live.

Studio-Monitors are supposed to be flat you fucking retards. That's kind of the entire point. They're reference phones used for mastering and mixing. People prefer them to other phones for general listening because being tuned for a flat response means you get more flexibility adjusting the EQ to suit your needs. Unlike other headphones that sound either too bassy or too "crisp"

Doesn't surprise me it's the genre where that style of headphones seem to work the best from what I've heard people say, not my style so can't confirm, I prefer older DnB which sounds way better in my opinion on V-shaped headphones
Try some other pair of good headphones with the sound signature you like or various ones if you're only ever used that one, you'll be surprised at what you thought was good really wasn't.
Or just double down on muh flat and try a SH840

But that's the thing, flat headphones can be anything. They're like jack-of-all trades, mediocre at everything, master of none. And I don't mean that in a bad way. Its just what some people prefer. Some people don't like needing to compensate for a headphones innate sound signature
42d3de No.14792756

> Some people don't like needing to compensate for a headphones innate sound signature
So your solution is to get people to buy a pair of headphones that will need to EQ out it's native sound signature instead.
Shitposting aside though I get why they exist and I get why some people prefer the sound signature itself it's just not the best in my opinion for vidya unless it's also got good soundstage >inb4 but muh speakers and imaging then it's probably very good at competitive FPS where basses are distracting and pin, pointing sounds is the most useful.
Although in that case it's not really the flat part as much as the closed with poor isolation that bothered me, open is inherently better for pinpointing sound positions but I get that not everyone can use open headphones
Funnily enough since I got my X2HR I tend to mix up the sound that are coming from the headphones with the sounds that are coming from my surroundings

Probably yeah, you can also get the same without mic.for about 50-60 bucks just look for Takstar Pro80 (although the Pro82 is better), the sound is V-shaped by default and not actually that bad and there's a bass boost thing that makes them unbearable, it's also rather comfortable even for very prolonged use but you might wanna trash the default pads, I dunno if they're tweaked in their gayman version though but I doubt it.
Also the fucking case they come in is good even $200+ headphones don't always get something that nice.

I've listened to thousands of dollars in headphones and there are 3 I consider the best for gaming and for different purposes. In no particular order:
1. Philips Fidelio X2 (Fun boomy cans, non-competitive)
2. Audio-Technica AD900x (Sharp and accurate, competitive.)
3. Sennheiser HD6XX/650 (Easy listening slightly warm cans, general use.)
Since gaming is far from the only thing I do on the computer I would recommend the Sennheiser HD6XX if there is another Massdrop for it. It's also built to last longer. While the other two headphones are nice they only do specific things well and may be fatiguing after a while. All of these have decent to large soundstages and forward mids, which is great.
