Since I just barely got it I haven't been paying any attention to PS4 modding, but I vagely recall that 5.50 was especially warned against updating too, was 5.50 particularly warned against or am I misremembering it? Obviously in the long run you're correct and 5.50 will have it's own method eventually but I'm wondering about the timescale to achieve that. For the time being I probably won't be touching the PS4 for a while, but I'll be on the look out for some cheap games if any good deals come across my way. Patience is a virtue after all.

I was reading some 5.05 stuff might release so I held on that even though I had new games that needed dlc downloads. Might take long time if ever. It seems there is userland exploit for 5.50 but might take years for kernel exploit. You really can't predict time.
