That taking a god of war game and slapping the Castlevania name on it is shameful

Mercury Steam is the worst thing to happen to both Castlevania and Metroid.

There are just so many better ways that you could portray a Belmont becoming Dracula, and the one thing they all have in common is that they're GRADUAL.

Not some sudden time-skip bullshit and then you've gone from paladin to evil overlord.

TL;DR First game holds up if you excuse the stupid epilogue, but the second game is "Stupid Epilogue: The Game"

The castle levels were very good. But they shat the bed with the first game's DLC, ruining the story of Gabriel's transformation into Dracula which should have been the focus of an entire game.

Don't learn stupid bullshit from anime. The ending to LOS1 is a flash forward twist, which in narration doesn't mandate any skipping. Story can go back and forward at will, in books.

Playing as Dracula, you really don't feel like a Dark Lord commanding an army of monsters, it was just LoS Boogaloo with a neat blood-combat cross, but with more punishment and you playing as a pansy who needs to dodge and evade a lot while being unable to withstand any blows that would knock him back. Story went to shit, it was a mistake for them to fucking do DLC for the first game instead of using that as an idea to show Gabriel's fall, then fast-forward to his rise and then show of his kid, look at Alucard/Trevor showing no emotion when his last descendant sacrifices himself, fucking retarded.

It wasn't time skip, the terrible shitty post-game DLCs showed how'd he fell, and you fight a gigantic version of Gabriel with a different skin as a boss, He stole his powers by jumping in between him and his Chaos Emerald. Fucking waste when a proper game would have sufficed.
