Well, for one, if you're going to use a popular game franchise's name, it would help to use literally any character from the games. Like, even a single fucking one. As far as I remember, the only name that was at all related to the game series was Umbrella. If that name had been changed there would be literally no way to know the game was based on Resident Evil.
For two, there were a ton of plot hole nitpicks. The one I remember most clearly is: "Why would a homicidal AI use anything other than the 'guaranteed kill' setting for its instant death laser defense grid?" That entire team should have been killed on the first pass of that laser grid.
But for the most part the movie was just unforgivably mediocre. It certainly wasn't good, and it wasn't bad enough to be an enjoyable bad movie. It was just entirely forgettable, and that is the biggest sin for any movie.

The actual content of the board would be unaffected, or just be buried under the pinned threads and everyone that isn't a normalfag would just use the catalog and ignore it. I can think of a few ways to do it that could work.
