I hate it when people try to argue who is the "strongest" because those are just fanboy dick-waving contests. But when put as simply "which is better at X, Person Y or Person Z?" then it's more interesting. Ken has more of a focus on aggression with faster normals and specials but requires solid hit confirms, resource spending, and technical combos to deal damage.

Ryu is an all-rounder with a defensive focus, with large normals that cover most possible angles and strong hitboxes that let him beat out most opposing characters. He has the ability to reliably go on the offense but his lack of combo potential and predictable methods of attack make him a character that is very defined by the skill of the player using him.

Probably. It only started getting really obnoxious with xrd but it was always there. I really hate animu powerlevel horseshit, there's nothing interesting about it, what's more interesting is characters having tricks/gimmicks that they have to use in interesting ways.

Speaking of power level stuff, is there any animu where a team of highly trained special forces manage to take down at least one edgy donut steel creature/"character" without any supernatural powers. Immune to bullets is half bullshit, being "too fast" to be hit is pure bullshit, especially if the former applies as well. Being surprised when the thing gets back up and not immediately firing another volley, doing retarded shit, and other stuff like that are just horribly boring to watch. Main reason I think Ash from Evil dead 2 is the best horror protagonist, because while he freaks out he never does anything retarded and never freezes up/gives up when things go south.

Originally they were meant to be the same as Ryu and Ken were the only playable characters in Street Fighter. Sinse SF2 Champion Edition their specials started to deviate making Ryu the calm and collective all rounder and Ken being the brash hot head with aggressive moves.
