Sounds like he was aiming for some level of historical accuracy so women would not make sense. Also said he wanted to delete the current lore so again, removing them would not be an issue for his version of the game. And no SC wouldn't count since that is obviously a fantasy setting. Is there a "command queue" that your attacks get entered into when you hit the button? I've been running into some really weird issues lately where buttons I've pressed will not register immediately. For example:

>press button for guard break

>enemy hits me with light attack immediately as GB command issued, so GB never occurs

>enemy follows through with combo

>as enemy's combo ends, I attempt my own light

>instead of doing a light attack my character attempts the guard break that I issued the command for earlier

Also what is the actual timing I need to be using for cancels? It seems as though I need to issue the cancel at the exact same time I press the button for the attack, and even then it only seems to work about half of the time.

I know the game does have some built-in input lag to try and compensate for network lag between players, but I was under the impression that wasn't supposed to add more than 33 to 66ms. I don't see that causing this sort of behavior.

AS far as i know there isn't any sort of command queueing like that, im not sure what's happening with you to be honest.

Cancels: Practically as soon as the attack starts, you don't feint on reaction, its a tool to be used to fake out an opponent. The actual time between the attack starting and the feint occuring is always uniform, i think it's 300ms before the attack would have landed. This means you cant delay a feint until the last milisecond before its meant to have landed, for example.

And remember; Only heavy attacks can be hard feinted with the B (Or O, or whatever it is on keyboard) button. Unless a character has a specific feint as part of their moveset, like some characters can feint Zone attacks, Centurion can softfeint into GB, etc. Any other questions feel free to ask, I seem to be able to channel some sort of autism into figuring out and memorising game mechanics. Help me this is such a worthless skill

I mostly play Nobushi and she should be able to cancel out of light attacks (or dodge) with her hidden stance. However I've seen the issue occur both with light attacks and the hidden stance, and heavy attacks (both with hidden stance and regular cancel).

I am definitely not seeing this and I'm having to issue the cancel command almost immediately after I initiate the attack. If I don't do this, what I intended as a feint simply becomes a regular attack.

I also seem to be having an issue where my character is not dodging when I try to dodge. Again, I can dodge about half of the time, but other times the dodge never comes - it's not that my character dodges and still gets hit, but rather that she does not move at all and simply takes the blow.

I would think that maybe it's a problem with my keyboard, but I don't see issues while typing or in any other game.

Thanks for this, it clears up a lot. I think I'm just going to load up a training match against a bot and practice feinting for a few hours. For some reason I was under the impression that the feint had to come much later in the animation.

It could simply be that I'm attempting to dodge too early after I've landed an attack myself, I'm not sure. I thought it was occurring outside of that but I'll watch more closely for that recovery time in the future.

Same, i picked it up after season 5 started (And before that played the beta), I just have a habit of getting very invested in mechanics.

Two other tips: When you activate Revenge, the Autoparry only works if you then do not hit ANY other key during its activation period. attempting to GB, attack, or even just move means that people actually hit you rather than tripping over.

Two: Guardbreaks can't be countered if you try and move during the attempt. Holding an existing movement key is fine, but pressing another between the time they attempt the GB and the CGBGB window ends means you are unable to counter. This used to catch me out a lot.
