270028 No.14745696

What games have you been playing recently? Just curious, 'cuz I've found myself in a slump, and don't know what to play anymore. Amidst my physical and digital library, the issue is commonplace.

I started the original Etrian Odyssey again, remembering how I bought it due to popularity on cuckchan back before the exodus–only to find it too hard to my liking. Now I'm going back and trying to get used to it.

Also downloaded Cave Story 3D to enjoy Cave Story in a different perspective, but I've had it before and just let it sit on my 3DS until it took up too much room.

Tried 'Marrow

its some Metroidvania with plataformer elements, its very hard, dropped it halfway. only ever saw one guy making a Full playtrough of it. It has a very grimmy dark ambience and its hard on a FUCK YOU level (no easymodo).

Its about some dude (or a kid, i am not sure) that have to save some orphans that have been dragged by underground creatures (who serve some sort of eldritch horror) into some creeppy maze/abandoned city/manor/laboratory/cave/other world. (its done in pixel style, so if you hate that, dont bother)

The same people made a new game named Exoder, havent played it but it looks to be pure plataformer with more fuck you difficulty

I have not owned a Nintendo system since Gamecube. Switch feels straight fucking comfy compared to other systems lately. Mario Odyssey is probably my favorite game right now. I love Balloon World so much and it could be its own game with a few adjustments. I hope they do an Odyssey 2 with even more worlds and some extra challenging post game worlds with ultra hard platforming with balloon world and other mini games like it too. Splatoon 2 is nice too but I find turf war the most fun thing about it and you can't earnrank ups on it so I have a hard time with it keeping my interest.

>What games have you been playing recently?

I play Rocket League pretty regularly, though I've been slowly getting bored with it. Midair came out recently, so I've been trying that out to see if it can be my go-to shooter. Not sure about it yet because I suck ass at it.

Beyond that I've been struggling to find anything that catches my interest. Tried the latest Hitman recently, it was alright. I've always been somewhat indifferent towards Hitman. They feel more like puzzle games to me than what I'm accustomed to when playing stealth games.

I tried Frostpunk, but the more I think about it the more it isn't worth mentioning. It's too short and too little to do.

Too Easy and Too Short. Like, 30~35 hours, the main story that is. The Water Devil Den's sound like they could be a challenge but I doubt it. I like the Main Group, they are interested but beyond characterization there is not much. They are consistent, at least. I wish there were, I don’t know, side quests for them. It's Trading/Business sim with some light visual novel elements but the main focus is mapping the world. The whole gimmick of the game is that the world changes based on how you respond to reports and rumors. Each time you send out fleets to explorer they'll tell you what they saw when they come back, if you believe them then the map changes to what they saw. If you don't you can send them back to the same area and they'll come back with a new report. Sometimes you'll see little bubbles on the map where people are discussing roomers which you can set out to prove or tell them that's bullshit. Like if you hear them say "There is a giant sea monster out there that can destroy ships"; you can believe him and it shows up when exploring uncharted waters or you can say it's bullshit and you can go the whole game without finding it.

look nigger, the beta (which i played until march) had zero group content. It was mostly a solo RPG with rare player interactions for buying shit you were too lazy to get yourself

hence why i ask, did they add content or is it the same dead borefest it was during beta? the only interesting thing i saw people do during beta was become druids and fly, and fight those Roach-Dragons that had 20k HP and would rape everyone which didn't really matter because there's 0 punishment for dying.

>b-b-but muh oldschool

no, fuck off, you dont get to play that card, being an old school MMO doesn't make it OK to have no content.

Last game I finished was Yakuza 6, and I started up Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth - but I'm stalling on that because I dislike timers on games and from what I hear VP is brutal if you want the best ending. Thoroughly enjoying all but Yakuza (I don't like consumable items, even health, and am now stuck in a fight with so low health that I'm a 1 hit kill, because I'm a retard. Now have to load last save and replay the last hour). I've been wanting to play something new, but I don't give a shit about remasters and formulaic sequels, spiritual or actual, and I honestly don't care about any new releases. Newest game I bought and played was Wolfenstein: The New Order, which was kind of ruined by a couple of game-breaking bugs and really shit bosses.

I guess they're there for looks. Tried using an oil probe but that apparently only works on land deposits. Who the fuck thought this was a good idea?

Also, in case anyone want to know for pirate purposes, the ARK feature that lets you carry over improvements between games doesn't work in single player anyway, so you might as well download it.

Tenchu: Return From Darkness. This game is a gem and people don't even know it. The story is lame but the combat and movement system are great. Crouching/sneaking after jumping from a high surface is your friend. Turn off stealth kills so you can easily hide after killing a dude because you can side step after an attack. I love the grappling hook. 2 might have the better story (never best it) but this has the bedt gameplay and looks great. The camera is dogshit though when you come to a slanted surface (auto slanting in a third person stealth game… confusing) but at other times works great. I still wish there was a lethsl/non lethal play style but I'm not complaining. Also forward dash sword thrust is OP as shit, it has so much range and can hit dudes that are up to 75 degrees to the right or left from the center of your sword thrust. You can miss the guy and still get a stealth stab kill. Also I love the music and ambience, plus it looks pretty good for an Xbox title. PS2 version got it's dick kicked into the dirt.
