In KF1, their isn't much going for it. The gore system is basic and the hits feel like using Nerf weapons. KF2 has a much more meaty feel to the strikes and the ZEDs stumble around when they get hit a couple times from the impact.

It doesn't work as well, because surgical tools are made to cause massive fucking damage on an industrial scale. A Dead Space where you were a doctor would be very different. It's probably be about fighting the enemies by removing alien cysts that are mindcontrolling people while keeping them alive, rather than slaughtering your way through with construction power tools that are accidentally perfect for maiming yourway through alien life forms.

Shadow of the Beast had great blood and violence, though as for gore, like being spilling organs, the only reason it doesn't have it is due to the tech they were using not really allowing it, as several of Aarbron's trophy kills showcase him surgically spitting his opponent from sternum to groin before ripping their heart out, but the model doesn't come apart.

Actually anon, it translates exactly into reality. You'll get the occasional outlier that does well with a heavier rating (GTA:V, Mad Max Fury Road, etc), but they're exactly that - outliers.
The desire to hew toward the center with a T/PG-13 rating is one based on cold, emotionless business calculations and market analysis. And while it might be good for shareholders, it's fucking awful if you're someone that wants good vidya or film. But we're in the minority, so fuck us, I guess.

Also, vidya is in a weird situation. It's generally not seen as remotely worth buying UNLESS it's an "M" rating. A "T" rating is probably the worst thing to give a game, since it's neither violent enough to be "cool," nor is it family-friendly enough for the "E" rating that can be given to everyone.

They were both okay. Titanfall had a pretty meh campaign in my opinion. Finding helmets was a little boring as far as collectibles go. Why not blueprints for new mech parts and weapons? Collecting all of them unlocks a really super fast mech that basically lets you curbstomp every area of the game.

I am probably the only person here who will admit this but I loved the glory kills. They were crunchy and offered chances for high tier gameplay (using them to get invuln frames, and crossing large gaps instantly.) I honestly can't remember the last game I can just replay over and over before NuDoom. Yea it's definitely not Doom. But it's still a super fun repayable game. Arcade mode is super fun.

UT series but 99 in particular, Duke Nukem 3D, Serious Sam (you can chainsaw things but the gore is just meatchunks).
Warframe is relatively recent and you can wade through enemies while slicing them in half from stem to sternum and it is fairly detailed.

kf2 is bad.
kf1 had static spawn points where they all flooded in from, you could hold off and alter flow of zeds with welding, holding and proper movement.
kf2, broken doors dont respawn, so you play 1 wave that style and then its gone. kf2 spawn director always places zeds somewhere behind you, ALWAYS, there is very little tactical play and crowd control due to this. KF2 was such a big dissapointment.

This mod even makes it into a fast pace game with dodging and double jumping. Bullets have travel time and the animation frames typically have a small enough window to get a twitch reaction out of. Literally dodging bullets. Play it with that one visor mod on the "realistic" setting and doom becomes fun again.

Alternate versions of monsters which can either be set progressively based on the level of the game or randomly switched with their primary counter parts. Both primary and alternative monsters have different abilites. For example, pinkies can sprint and some of their alternative versions have higher hp (300, 400 hp iirc) can do insiginificant damage with their horns, but it's damage none the less. Imps dash at you when they go to meele and are capable of ceiling climbing. The first few times they fall from the ceiling towards you from a door is exciting as they "come out of no where". Their Alternative monsters have different projectiles and states. Some are heat seeking.
All monsters have different death animations and there are gore settings from realistic to unrealistic levels of gore to the point it become relatively easy to literally paint rooms red. Blood decals and bullet casings/ cartridges can stay on the floor forever (personal favorite. I like seeing the end result of my work). It also modifies the original doom levels as well. The cyberdemon in e2m8 is much larger and has higher hp. Normal cyberdemons outside of e2m8 are relatively normal sized and fire 5 rounds of smaller projectiles that sway predictably and a melee stomp. You can even flick them off and upset them. They begin to go rapid fire with their rocket. His alternatives has a version with both arms being rockets, and wildly other variants. Even rare spawns exist on randomize. The pain elemental has a monster that can teleport, shoot lightning chaotically everywhere, and has enough hp to be considered a boss fight. There are many different weapons too. In the 2.x versions, almost all the guns have alternative fire modes/actions. They have a "UAC" chaingun alternative that can be spawned, at random, in place of the regular chaingun that is capable of piercing through walls if they're thin enough. Find an automap and see that obvious trap door in a custom pwad you never played and you just won a fight that never started.
It sounds cheap, but play it on fast monsters with the hardest difficulty by combining it with that doom visor mod, and it's a treat. Good challenges, but beatable. Some weapons can make it easy though, but with headshots being a thing, you can almost start a level with defaults and aim for the head. My biggest gripe though with 2.0 is that revenant's head is misrepresented by the sprite, but other than that, quick trap doors at my settings are cheaper, but they're beatable. Corner hugging becomes important, but remembering twitchy ways helps when you're caught with your pants down because almost everything can be dodged, even bullets. Regardless, the Bosses remain to be feared in close quarters as they should be. The Spider Mastermind literally fires a large projectile that shakes your screen and kills you very quickly. You actually need cover even from a distance.
