Can be classical, beautifull or just hear-pounding techno.
Mostly for my car when I'm driving, so it's packed with Protoman and Hotline already, but I can also take some fantasy tracks about dwarves kickin elven ass.

Alright, that rally thing is downloading.
Silent hill might be good but I gotta find a couple of creepy tracks, so when I set the Radio to "Random" they'll hopefully play when I'm driving at night with a car full of people and scare the crap out of them.
This is what I got so far.
Bunch of folders for non-vidya crap and the vidya folder that I started selecting in the past 30 minutes or so.

You're supposed to play the games, then if a certain music piece tickles your fancy, you find it, save it, listen to it, et cetera.
A lot of people wouldn't normally listen to a certain vidya music piece if they hadn't experienced playing a game while listening to it. That's a fact. More power to you if you enjoy the game the song is from. If anything, that'll heighten your enjoyment of the song in question.
I can't think of any other examples besides this one song in Fallout New Vegas. I believe it was Johnny Guitar. I wouldn't have listened to that song had you shown it to me before I was introduced to New Vegas. After playing the game while listening to it whenever it popped on the radio, I became adjusted to it and now I love the song.

It's generally the opposite for me. I got into Touhou, Drakenguard/Nier, Gravity Rush, Ace Combat, and a lot of the other "go to vidya OSTs" games through their music fist and it's what got me to finally play a lot of games that otherwise would have stayed in the back log. I picked up Catherine solely because I really fucking liked the main/first bar theme.

Probably not. I aint giving EA any money and I'm not interested in sports games either. It's also not on my back log which is generally built now primarily from /v/'s recommendations. Hell a good chunk of my back log was made just from the music and share threads here. I tend to use a game's soundtrack to decide what games from the back log I then play first. Like I said earlier touhou and gravity rush in particular I discovered first solely through their music and listened to both series' soundtracks for the longest time and their music was the only reason that I eventually ended up playing both series. I will concede that playing the game and appreciating the music is superior than just listening to the music because the experiences you encounter during the game can make a particular piece all the more memorable and powerful.
My top favorite songs are all from games I've played because the gameplay enhanced the impact the songs left on me. I listen to a lot of music but even still the vast amount of music I've listened too I have yet to play their respective games because of the eternal back log. Also vidya OSTs are a fantastic way to instill some good taste into normalfags as well. I managed to convert lots of people just by introduing them to the music from Ace Combat and other games. Games that they otherwise would never have played but the the soundtrack was enough to push them over the edge and try lots of stuff out.

You might be surprised to know that you can find some top notch music in CD-i games.
Todd Rundgren also released an experimental interactive album on the CD-i called "No World Order" which is his only album where he raps. I love it.
