So I was trying to get into shmups when I read about shmupMAME being a superior option to play arcade titles, the thing is that when fired up Batrider the game actually felt choppier and less responsive than in my MAME180 romset, some other games did not fire up or performed poorly

I dunno, If there is actually less input lag I cant tell

Theres lot of stuff to choose from so I might be here a while trying out games to see what I should stick with, and thats not even covering console stuff, so any suggestions you want to sell me on are welcome

Im also trying out toho6 to see what its all about but Im hilariously incompetent, how I made it to stage 6 on normal last time remains a misery to me, some stretches look fucking impossible without bombing and Im really bad at bombing

I've been playing Senko no Ronde 2 and it's alright. Playing Caladrius Blaze too, and that one's very good. As for emulation op lmao just play cotton boomerang

I think it's the makeup that highlights the imperfections. Like men trying out drag for the first time. Also, I thought they were like humanized sexy version of sonic the hedgehog and Amy Rose from the thumbnails at first.

"shmupMAME" is an intentionally broken build of MAME by poorly skilled autists who think the reason they can't beat Batrider is because of milliseconds of delay the game had even in arcades, rather than them just sucking. Just use regular MAME.

It's been a while since one of those threads, Finally 1CCed KAMUI,

RefleX is now destroying me instead, I don't think I'll get to 1CC that one, I could probably manage to keep it up to the powerup sequence since there's honestly nothing spectacular until then but after that point it's a required no miss and that ain't fucking happening with the bullshit the final bosses throw at you.

Tried Varstray for a breather and instead the game got me to feel fucking dirty about how easy it was, I shouldn't be able to come that close to a 2-ALL on my first serious try, nevermind getting my dumbass in the top 20 for score.
