I finally got the chance to try this shit out and it's pretty great but I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the progression.
I've been to the flooded caves and to the mines, but I still keep ending up in the chest or sheol. I know there's shit to unlock, so how do I unlock it exactly?
Anybody got a guide for unlocks? Can't find anything online

I did, I actually got all the way to rebirth but it forced me to revert back and I don't have the hard completion mark checks.

Also I don't remember if you need to get to boss rush room in time or not.
Basically to go to heaven you need to spawn two angel rooms, look that up.

It still pisses me off to this day that Rebirth didn't get the same soundtrack as the original. Rebirth was better from a technical perspective thanks to not being made in flash, but the music tracks were such a huge step down from the first one that I had a hard time enjoying myself as much as before.

An add-on mod that was significantly better than the base game, creating a sort of seam between the old unimpressive content and new better content. It still couldn't fix Isaac, the core problem being there is nothing to justify what the game expects you to do, which is play it over and over, because as much as it's a roguelike it's still massively repetitive and there is far from enough game content or playthrough variety.

You have to kill each of the new bosses in the normal game, which unlocks a new door that will open at the end of the first level.
I think the first one requires two keys or something, the one for the second area requires bombs, and the one for the third requires soul hearts.
In the second part of the special areas, you have to solve a puzzle in the level to get part of a knife, which will let you enter the Corpse (the Womb counterpart)

Anyone know of any cracked versions of BOI that work without Steam? Every version I've tracked down just expects you to have Steam installed. It doesn't seem to work just using a regular cracked Steam API, tried replacing steam_api.so on Linux with a cracked version and it still complained that steam wasn't running.
