So what are your thoughts on the pretty neat game that is darkwood and the devs supporting people reasons to pirate it?

>Scariest moment for you.

>Most used weapon you found yourself using.

>What difficulty do you play on?

>Thoughts on the story or at least whats there.

I think the moment that got me, is probably the third hideout where I had to fight off the split body's the way they busted down my defenses so quickly than on top of that I attack by a siren

I think the moment I have gotten the pistol I think I find myself using that the most as it has saved my ass more times than I can count so far.

I like playing on hard, if I die I just ctrl alt f4, that way I don't lose too much, I've seen enough of the game but forgot a lot so am taking things with a bit easier on myself.

I like what story I saw was there, but I plan on exploring everything I can in this speaking of I have a pig I need to fry.

c78f6a No.14691757

I played it until the third area, then I quit. It's a fun game but it felt kind of repetitive.

I spent 2 molotovs trying to kill the pig before I realized I had missed a puzzle

bb6510 No.14691902

>>14691876

Is this the one with the neat light mechanics and creepy atmosphere? I remember reading it was incredibly repetitive and monotonous and its moodyness was the only thing it had going for it.

a74c14 No.14691957

>>14691902

It's not really repetitive, unless you count the night events but what carries the game is exploring the world in the time you have and doing all the really cool things you can do, you could also just kill everyone if you felt like it.

The night hiding is mandatory yes, but its not as bad people make it as the night events are typically different every night, making it tense.

829b86 No.14691981

Played it until the second base and then stopped because of reasons. I really liked the atmosphere and the tank controls mixed with 2d sprites. That being said i really could use advice on how to gain reputation with the wolf merchant. As far as i know surviving a night only gives reputation with the old merchant but only the wolf has actually good stuff.

a74c14 No.14692021

>>14691981

The best way I do it, is I basically build up rep with the trader and buy some good parts like weapon parts or stuff you find lying around to trade with him, really you only need the toolbox to upgrade your tool bench which carries onto everyone tool bench you use.

829b86 No.14692047

>>14692021

Yeah, i wanted to go for the toolbox too, but the game seems to be a bit on the grinding side, which I´m not fond of, tbh. I wish the devs would tweak the numbers there a bit. Especially the reputation rewards for surviving a night should probably be little bit higher. or maybe i´m just too dumb for this game.

a74c14 No.14692094

>>14692047

You get more rep, the more dangerous your hideout is, the silent forest is the best place to get rep plus exploring helps you too, as long as you have a weapon you should be find, killing savage and getting their staff pretty much opens a lot to you as the staff as a lot of range to work with.

Make your thread again, and give a magnet link/load it to the vola. If you are just going to come here to advertise for a game get the fuck out.

You dont even need to pirate it, the developers themselves released a torrent of the game themselves, 'for people who want to play the game but have circumstances and cant afford it'. Just look up Darkwood Torrent and you should get articles linking to the piratebay page.

I think its only the first version tho, not including updates. I havent really been following the game since i tried and it wasnt really my thing

133c5b No.14692533

>le shill meme

Your right, better jack it to the latest news some anon scrapped from the front page of kotaku. Or some twitter post someone made.

If you faggots paid any attention you would know that the devs themselves put our the torrent for this game just asking you don't buy it from resellers.

But to know that you would have to actually play videogames once in a while right?

I played it a few months back OP when the threads were up. Was alright but I dropped it after a little while.

a74c14 No.14692556

>>14692533

I wouldn't even know how to upload on this vola site, I mean I could just as easily find a quick upload site that take a gb, but yeah the devs are cool with you pirating it, I torrented it as well. Vola seems just inconvenient way to get it, to do it file by file without even being able to upload the damn folder.

How do you kill the moose?

Are the one shot pistols worth the exorbitant materials?

a51c4d No.14692792

>>14692770

Try luring it into a bear trap and then go at it while it cant fight back.

a74c14 No.14692845

>>14692792

>>14692770

I don't think killing the moose is worth it in the long run except maybe getting meat, you should also hold off on getting the one shot pistol it's a waste of resorces, get your workbench up to the point when you can make a pistol then never let go that thing will save your life in the long run.

c94a08 No.14692863

>>14692845

Oh so there are permanent variants later on, good.

Now I actually played it a while back but after reading about the perk changes from the EA, that kinda made me drop it. I read that most became useless or too situational and there are only obvious good ones you can get, therefore not much in build variety. What have changed and are they as bad as the others made it out to be? Depend on the answer might make me pick it back up again.

a74c14 No.14692917

>>14692863

Have no idea what asking exactly, the perks weren't really meant to be amazing just abilty's just to help you stay alive, what really aids you is your weapon choice which their's many.

82c202 No.14692989

The game was really fun for the first 2 areas but when I got to the third area I didn't feel like continuing.

I died for the first night there and realized that the only penalty for dying near your home is not gaining reputation with the trader. I'm sure that on hard (I think I was playing on normal) the penalty is greater, but I didn't feel like restarting just so I could have a legitimate experience.

I'm sure I'll get around to restarting eventually but probably not for a while.

The creepiest thing in the game so far is the little violin playing boy.

Decent game, played it all the way through. Interesting ending as well, is all I'll say. By the last area nothing was spooky- while the day-collecting was still decently engaging all the way through the scares had gotten real lame, especially the last area where it's just tame campy-horror-movie-tier monsters. The elephants were probably my favorite talkable guys though, simply because they seemed a lot more not-retarded than everyone else. 6/10, 8 weighted if you account for the shitshow the rest of the genre is.

I'm a pussy when it comes to horror games, so I've watched some longplays. I really like the visual design and the entire 'lock yourself up in a small house and try to defend yourself, also being in the light means things see you and if you're in the dark things can get you' bit.

>asking for a torrent of a game that the devs made a torrent for and uploaded

now this is spoonfeeding.

d59b16 No.14697189

Darkwood is to spoopy for me to play. Seriously. Maybe it's that recent horror titles have increasingly moved away from actual horror elements, but what the devs have achieved with relatively plain graphics (and excellent sound design) is enough to make me save the game and quit before the next night starts.

dae3bc No.14697497

>How many difficulties does the game have anon?

I think it had 3, the typical casual/normal/hardcore types.
