But then people would judge the end result by a film's standards, and would realise that it fucking sucks. But if the "film" is done in the gaming medium, it's treated like something amazing.

Sony likes to have a diverse library. That library includes games that trigger 8chan, but Sony doesn't seem to care. David Cage makes games that sell. Which is at the end all that matters.
There is a niche for his games. Just as there is a niche for my pedo games. PlayStation has always had something for everyone: its what makes it sell above the competition. Its why Sony is actually willing to invest money in ideas.

I could never understand the appeal of these. It's certainly been established that the writing is terrible but people say the visuals are great. Quantic Dream, dating back all the way to Omikron, can't animate mouths for shit. I seriously can't be the only one that gets annoyed at how everyone looks like they are having a leaf blower fired into their mouth or are a gaping bass waiting to be dumped back into water. Each time one of their games has released there is usually one that looks worlds better already on the market. I mean shit even Injustice 2 had better facial animation and it's a fucking fighting game.
