I'm an insomniac. I stay up all night like 2-3 times a week. I like Shadowrun. Nice and moody and immerses me. Because if I went outside I would feel like a hacker man, but sadly there's no crime government syndicate with me on their hitlist. But yeah, it's immersive. So what game does the same for you?

I haven't played it, but the Syndicate port on Sega CD has one of the most atmospheric OSTs I've heard. This is the kind of shit I would definitely play in the background during a game of /tg/ Shadowrun.

Is it? I would never call a game like 'Rocket League' or even 'Skyrim' atmospheric, because I find myself chasing an artificial goal of scoring or smithing my weapon to a higher grade. But Im really enjoying shadowrun games now. Im working my way thru the reboots. I played the spin off shooter back in 2009 I think it was. Even its shitty games are good.

This game is probably up there with the most impressively detailed worlds out there. And the fact that you can miss big sections of the game if you don't pay attention makes it worth exploring. These days it feels like devs only focus on areas the player is guaranteed to see.

I mean, could you imagine if they made a sequel that ignored the first game's ending and the entire point of the first game that the first game was very thoroughly designed around with it, inserted a forced love interest (who acts like a femdom to you so you gotta win her over), replaced all the characters with these cardboard cut-out Hollywood-ized versions of themselves (including making Khan this version of a fucking magical negro), and that in general stomped on everything that the first game tried to make itself into?
Then imagine if after making that sequel they went back and made a Special Edition™ of the original game in order to dumb it down to the level of its sequel and then took the original version of the original game down from Steam so that people would never be able to play Metro 2033 as it was originally designed without turning to piracy to do so.
Haha.
I'm sure glad none of that happened.

I think the worse thing about the story of Last Light is it ruined all the Dark Ones mystique.
In the 2033 they're unknown entities and it isn't clear what their intentions are. It's implied they're almost a next evolutionary step but there are questions as to whether humanity and the dark ones can coexist as, even if inadvertently, the presence of dark ones can damage human minds and even kill them.
In Last Light, they're basically people with telekinesis who never wanted to hurt anybody ever, and, because they retconned the story, you committed genocide for no reason.

The only reason to play the 360 version is for firefight, which the MCC port doesn't have; but OP wouldn't benefit from that.
Otherwise, the xbone/MCC version is objectively superior with a higher framerate and resolution.
8ceb39 No.14687860

Same thing with a lot of things in that game, back in the day you'd even see people arguing that the poor translation was an intentional thematic element. You could say the same for the low polycount on the models, which probably happened because they just couldn't manage anything better at the time, but they worked it into the game thematically by explicitly referencing it in the true ending.
>>14687834
Well I never got a comprehensive explanation on the Rat Prophet in either version of the translation, so that's probably more a result of competent writing than shit translation.

I found this game called Lobotomy Corporation after it came off of early access. You play as the manager of a faculty locking away monsters and use your peons to interact with them to generate energy, the more times you interact, the more events break out into the facility. Robotic clowns slaughtering people is probably gonna kill everyone so you should have finished the day before that. Yes, it borrows alot from SCP.
It's a Korean game though and the translation is rough but serviceable. I just like seeing what the next monster is going to be, got 10 so far and I've unlocked only 10%.
