Are there any games that are laid back but not boring. I guess a good example would by Spyro, Ratchet and Clank, Mario 64, etc. I don't just mean platformers but those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

846dac No.14649017

Kirby series.

How is the N64 one?

af13de No.14649047

>any Animal Crossing

>Harvest Moon from the original to Magical Melody

>Xenoverse 2 if you want to beat up stuff without putting in effort

>E.V.O.

>Snake Pass

>Littlebigplanet 1 & 2

>>14649040

Pretty comfy, can't comment on the emulation though.

846dac No.14649081

It's one of my favorites. If I remember correctly P64 only has some visual glitches on the GUI, but I think there was a way to fix it.

846dac No.14649091

>E.V.O.

I remember correctly that game got pretty bullshit hard on some later stages.

I found Kirby's Yarnball Adventure fun. The narration makes it really comfy.

Breath of the Wild, if you want to spend much of your time just killing enemies, collecting crap, upgrading your armor, and fucking around looking for secrets. Just don't invest a lot into playing it. I've been dicking around with it for a couple weeks on the WiiU I bought to support my local game shop.

846dac No.14649426

>>14649128

I think that one is alright but way too easy.

It was still fun to look for secrets and collect shit. But it takes a little of the fun away knowing you can't lose it.

Last time I checked the emulation for kirby 64 worked reasonably well, but a bunch of stuff is missing or doesn't render properly (e.g. the health bar)

Edgy and obscure as fuck with it's post apocalyptic earth and evil incarnate boss.

Farming games like Harvest Moon, StarDew Valley.

Any good hunting sims? The Hunter: Call of the Wild looks good, but have not played it.

LBP, ABZÛ, know it's pretty much a walking sim, but I am a sucker for ocean/beach/island themes.

Donkey Kong Country

Metroid Prime on normal mode is pretty laid back and emulates well

Wind Waker is pretty comfy

Old School Runescape can be relaxing

Terraria on normal mode

Minecraft/minetest are always comfy, especially with some mods

Someone mentioned Kirby already, and I’d specifically recommend Kirby’s Dreamland 3 for max comfy, but N64 is nice too

Rollercoaster Tycoon is ln’t a bad choice either

>The Hunter: Call of the Wild

You spend most of your time looking at the grass in that game, killing anything better than the casualmode deer is a pain in the ass. You have to figure out where the stupid animals hang around, make a fucking grand strategy tier plan to make sure they can't smell you, that you're well hidden, that you have the right ammo for each animal and predict where they will come from so that you'll have a clear shot at the right moment, then afer hours of waiting you better not miss the heart or you'll spend a gorillion more hours tracking the motherfucker for miles, oh and don't even think that going for headshots is going to save you, unless you hit their tiny pea brains right in the center they'll run even longer than if you hit the body.

sounds just like real hunting, I know that does not sound fun for most people, but I kind of want that. Is the terrain interesting? and are there other animals running around too? like racoons, possums, foxes and small birds?

Chibi Robo comes to mind. Operation Genesis, when you unlock site B you can pretty much just watch dinosaurs do dinosaur things.

>>14651761

Better than the recent Cabela's at least, where it's like a zoo exhibit where everything conveniently hangs out.

Graphically the game looks pretty good tbh, especially the rain and the grass, but it can be glitchy here and there.

As for small animals, I didn't pay attention to birds, but I'm pretty sure it has some small animals like racoons, they're a pain in the ass to even see though, they'll run away if you get whithin a mile from them so at best you'll hear a noise and turn fast enough to see a blurry blob disappearing into the foilage.

776325 No.14652548

>>14651852

I just want a hunting sum like the early Deer Hunter '0X's, they had huges maps, shooting ranges, vehicles, atvs and trucks, and a lot of small animal life, frogs, racoons, and turtles. could also set up tree stands, stiltstands, and blinds.

Believe it or not the best way to emulate K64 is through Dolphin via Kirby's Dream collection. Dolphin is getting so good that the emulated Wii's emulator is less glitchy than dedicated PC emulators.

I'm a big fan of Element4l

It's a platformer/puzzle game, that's got a really comfy atmosphere and soundtrack and cute visual aeshetic. It's really nice to relax to, but it's also actually decently challenging in the later levels.

You found a loophole OP. You thought of a way to say "comfy" without people bitching.

Monaco is one of my more recent favourites.

I'd say CK2 is a bit too dramatic to be comfy for me.

It's often used for lazy (1) and done OPs but there's nothing inherently wrong about the term.
