Been playing through the latest release of Angband recently, had a mid level ranger who got killed due to stupidity, so I thought I would try a rogue this time. Really liking the direction the game is going now, particularly with how enchanted equipment now has a rune system for identification. Identifying a rune on a piece identifies it on all equipment with that rune.

I'm currently running a Demigod (Hermes) Ninja in PseudoElliPosChengband.

On a semi-related note, anyone who likes regular PosChengband should back up their copies of it, because the dev went nuclear and deleted its website and github a while back.

The only way to get PosChengband now (that I'm aware of) is to get a fork of the original version:

At a glance, most are several years old, some (like PEPCB) are based on 6.1.0, and only one (carriercomm / poschengband) appears to be based on the latest version, 7.0.2.

As to what happened, I don't know the details, but from the vague mentions of him I've seen while looking through threads on angband.oook.cz for info about various things, the dev was apparently the type to do something like this.

Anyone play Barony? Only real problem I have with it is how bullshit boulder traps can be, gets me right sweaty hearing that rumble start. Kind of humorous when one goes crashing through a door and mushes a mob though.

You can be a brainlet and play DF. It's more of an issue of patience. You have to be ok with failing several times in a row, but you'll never fail for the same reason twice. And, eventually you just get it and realize it's actually not that hard of a game.

Unless, of course, you are a turbo-brainlet like >>14645968
