I tried learning Russian ages ago but I gave up.
I just couldn't get used to the grammar being different. I always made simple mistakes like saying "Russian" instead of "Russian language" (русский язык) or capitalizing the first letters of words that aren't names.

There was some drama involving mark and a gamenight and some anons moved to a different board that I refuse to name and give them free advertising. A lot of the stalker fags got caught up in it for whatever reason. Also I hope it wasn't a homogay marriage.

I know slavic has more pronouns than English. And for time you "ed" and "ing" whiles there are more in my language. And in slavic words referring to objects are gendered, for instance house is female, knife is male and bike is neutral. All and all my language is way less heavy on this stuff than Russian. And thats actually the bitch to learn. You can get a lot more context out of a single word. However I don't see how you find syntax different when they seem to me to be pretty close to English, and I use my language's punctuation for the most part in English and it doesn't look wrong.
