The only somewhat decent 'asymmetrical' game I ever enjoyed was Nosgoth. However the devs were a bunch of incompetent subhumans who turned it F2P and killed it even more. Absolutely zero content and repetitive maps killed it. They also never rebalanced the classes and each map would end with the absolute annihilation of one team. Either the Vampires would absolutely slaughter the human team or the Humans would decimate the Vampires. It was never a mix or a close call. Always one team would have the upper hand based completely on what weapons/classes the majority of players would choose in each team.

<players compete on an even ground through repetition, straining the one-dimensional mechanics as far as they can be and ultimately not making for any unique experiences.

I really think evolve would have been great if they didn't have a bunch of jews cramming money schemes into it from day 0, but further than that- if they took a stealth approach to the gameplay. Unfortunately for Moishe it doesn't make as exciting ESPORTS gameplay but if instead of the core gameplay revolving around leaping for the monster and jet boosting for hunters… if the monster did his best to hide and things like tracks, consumed corpses, birbs, and all other manner of things were used to oust the (until late game) physically weaker monster instead of literally having an alien dog that always knows where the monster is without having to follow a scent trail. Then, get rid of the FOUR PLAYER ROLE BASED CLASS BULLSHIT and allow players to take whatever loadout they want. Encourage melee weapons by having ranged weapons be a resource (powerful but limited in ammunition).

Combat should have been way more tactical than it was and they even casualized it by making all classes able to cast dome instead of just trapper (basically making him worthless) despite not removing class based selection, and removing the mechanic that shut the dome down if the trapper was downed, thus removing any need to protect the trapper and relegating him to a lower tier assault.

t. Got it almost for free because a relative gave me a gaymestop gift card that was going to sit unused forever until I saw evolve. I wanted it to be so good since I really like asymmetrical pvp but there was only trash.

It's a false assumption that Free players will outnumber paid players.

If they're playing the game on the regular, or investing anything into it, they're most likely going to be a paid player. If they barely play, or they don't have any real interest, they'll probably be a free player.

Now, the latter group doesn't play often, they don't get invested, and they'll probably play less and less as time goes on until they stop altogether. The former won't. See where the problem starts?

The concept would have worked. It wasn't going to be free to play but a 60 dollar product. There was a free version with only the Orkz as a playable race which would have been made up of a bunch of low IQ Brazilians playing the free version. Asymmetrical multiplayer is fine under two conditions:

- Played as 1v1 or as pre-organized teams;

- Individuals or teams on each side get to choose what they play.

In this way, many RTS or fighting games, and I even suppose several FPS, have asymmetrical multiplayer and it's fine. If the balance is off, players might choose a different race or character or build that they think is best off and stick with running that.

Removing either of these conditions makes for terrible play though. Starting with the second, some people might want to play a game only in a specific way. If they are instead not given the option to play as they like, they may do dumb bullshit in the game and ruin the experience for anyone on the other end or any teammates they may have. Breaking the first point creates huge balance problems given variety in player skill. I've seen no system of grouping random players together into teams to play against each other that has been largely satisfying to members on either team and few systems that have done it well enough for 1v1, though those that are good enough for 1v1 could likely be good enough for even, pre-organized teams with enough population.

Uneven team games are absolutely awful because if the expectation of player skill for each group is slightly off during balance, those games can swing hugely in the favor of one side or another. The bottom of the barrel are games that turn the destroyed members of one team into new members of the other. One game I played in the past had a minigame that worked that way, and some people would simply sacrifice themselves to join and play on the other team, setting that team at a huge advantage to whatever could have been considered normal.

If I were to play any kind of asymmetrical multiplayer these days, I would want it to only be 1v1. Random teammates on the whole are unreliable.

If you are talking about that sort of symmetrical multiplier it can be balanced via numbers. Prime example is l4d. Survivors are op but they have only 1 life. Zombies theoretically have infinite re-spawn numbers, practically they have 5-10 respawns per match pls hundreds of Horde. So even if one side units themselves are weak they doesn't feel weak because of numerical superiority.

But very few games use numbers difference, PvP usually is designed on 1 to 1 basis.

Basically the problem with DBD is that its literally, mathematically impossible for the Killer to win if the Survivors are playing even halfway decently. All of the Survivor objectives can be completed in the time it takes to take down just a single competent survivor.

Killer gameplay essentially revolves around hoping Survivors are stupid/overconfident and fuck up, and dont play optimally.

But the devs refuse to changes this because Survivor-Only players are the largest part of the playerbase by far, and therefore their main source of cash.

They are pretty much never going to nerf them, even though they are so blatantly overpowered.

Hell they even added a co-op "queue with friends mode" because Survivor players screamed and reviewbombed the game for not having one, even though the core game design was designed & balanced around 4 randoms with no way of communicating with each other, not teams using external vocie chat. They added a team mode even though it was never meant to be a fucking team game in the first place.

Rising Storm 1 certainly is. Can't say for the other games.

In RS1 the Japs get mortars that can, if used properly, completely fuck up the enemy from a safe position. All you need is a forward observer giving hints like "further right" or so and you can completely lock the Americans out of the cap zone.

The Americans got semi auto rifles as standard, which makes them fantastic in CQC, but also very deadly on mid range, because they can follow up and correct shots quickly. Japs got their bayonetts and FORDED OVER 10.000 TIMES, FORGED BY VENERABRE SENSEI MITUBISHI ON MOUNT FUJI, BATHED IN THE BROOD OF 100 CHINESE VIRGINS AND SHARPENED ON THE SAME ROCK EMPEROR HIROHOHITO ONCE SAID ROOKED KIND OF RIKE HIS MOTHER katanas, but those are not really a viable substitute for 8 rounds of .30-06.

The Banzai charge however completely changes that. If you have well coordinated Japs who use their mortars to take down enemy strong points and then charge into the weakspots with like 20 Nips all shouting BANZAI! the Americans will get paniked and be so useless that the japs can take their position.

Only now comes the problem, the Nips can't hold ground for shit. The mortars are simply bad at denying an area, or engaging moving targets, and the Jap MGs suck ass. The Americans simply need to countercharge and retake the positions using flamers and their M1 carbines, while their own MGs and M1 rifles hold down the jap defenders. As long as they can find whoever is spotting for the Jap mortars the Nips will be burned to a crisp.

Unless the Japs use mine grenades, and keep important entryways clear.

Which the Americans can avoid by having a single rifleman walk in front of the flamer at all times.

You have two very offensively oriented armies, which are perfectly geared to kill eachother, and you can get some VERY dynamic matches with this.

I started playing Dead by Daylight recently. Pretty fun, the biggest issues i can see is it being easier for survivors than it is for the killer (at least perkless) and the fact that all the animations are horrendous for some reason. It's a fun game though, probably worth the tenner i paid. I hear the DLC will be free soon, so if you end up getting it dont bother getting any unless you really MUST play Laurie Strode RIGHT NOW.

Played a game just now against some big shot faggot who thought i would be an easy mark because i was playing Wraith (Notoriously weak killer, and i was level one.) and spent the game Teabagging and trying (and failing) to blind me with his odd bulb torch. Unfortunately for him he was actually a fucking garbage player and was the second to be sacrificed. Some other guy with Decisive DCd as soon as i hooked him (After retard A failed three seperate epik flashlight saves) The game would have been a 4k but i dragged the last guy to the hatch to rub it in the other two's faggot faces even more.

*One of them even used Bloody Party Streamers so I got LODSOFEBLUD*

The only reason i even PLAYED wraith was for a daily ritual, so i got fucking GORILLIONS of points from that game.

Addendum: SWF teams get SUPER BUTTMAD when their "Tactic" of trying to distract me and swarm a hook together doesnt work, and gets the whole team killed.

Only the original characters are going to made grind2notpay, you are still gonna need to pay for the liscenced characters, unless they end up coming to some kind of deal with the licence holders, which I doubt they will be able to.

Not that you should buy them anyways, survivors are just skins, perks you can unlocked without buying the dlcs if you wait long enough, and even the best of the 4 liscenced Killers is just on the high end of low tier at best.
