Here's an actual idea that might work.
Rather than chasing the latest trends and trying to compete against established popular brands, why don't they do something a bit different. Keep the "Battle Royale" central idea, but instead of setting it on a big open map where you have to scavenge for weapons - set it in a labyrinthine and procedurally generated maze of interconnected rooms. Rooms would follow visually and mechanically thematic rooms, hosting their own traps, enemies, and special bonus conditions for clearing. Players are divided into teams of two to four players, but are not required to stick together - and when entering a room they are then locked in with successive waves of PVE trashmob enemies you have to mow down while collecting overpowered (but very limited in duration use) power-ups as well as money and "prize boxes" which disappear if you don't collect them fast enough (which could be the mechanic by which you earn and buy loot crates - because Jews will have to fit those in somewhere anyhow). So you're encouraged to explore more dangerous rooms and play aggressively for a high-risk, high-reward payoff.
Only after clearing a room do you get the chance to move on, and there would be some server background operations which decide what paths open to funnel players into the same general end-game area - but allowing for multiple branches and paths to get there through different thematic areas - or just skip that shit and just have the enemies get tougher and tougher as the timer counts down, to keep players/teams moving and converging. So splitting up becomes even more dangerous - but the prizes are distributed across the whole team - so it rewards splitting up if you have the skills to pull it off.
The "Battle Royale" part comes in as the teams converge on the central point and start fighting each other, in addition to fighting the waves of progressively more difficult horde mobs - until there is only one team left (and even they might not "win" if they die before reaching the center.)
Then give the overall game the retro-80's theme… maybe like, I dunno… a slaughter-sport gameshow of some sort.

I don't have the strongest computer in the world but this piece of shit is running at 10 frames on ultra low for me and from the comments i'm not the only one.
Entire game feels very try hard, like wildstar, when they could have actually made something edgy like the running man movie, as the games theme is apparently emulating that.
Besides that the game looks and feels awful. the map is absolutely fuckhuge and you have to wander around to actually meet anybody, i got into top ten without ever encountering a single player.

I managed to record this in my literal first minute of ever playing the game : the physics is completely retarded and makes you gain momentum just by pressing jump. I assume that you could fly to some places with the bike in game if there is slopes like in the warmup area.
Either way, it's shit, and the fact that I could see in 30 seconds that physics were broken bodes well for the future if that's representative of their talent.
