7e3e4f No.14604353

I recently starting replaying Stella Glow and I forgot how genuinely good the game was from gameplay, story and characters. It was a game was underrated and went off the radar, I highly recommend it for any backlog.

e372c5 No.14604387

The game suffers from the turn times. Why the fuck should I be forced to watch what's not even animations, but just text appear for a goddamn minute over all the character heads as a witch song is on? Doesn't help everything here is slow as fuck, there's no different ways to develop characters besides affection and it's ultimately mediocre, outclassed by almost any SRPG I can think of. The game badly needed polishing before release, though I enjoyed it anyway. The other game those Nips did before dying, Dragon Code VFD, was better, though the awful start it has made me talk shit about it before. I guess you should play 5-10 hours of a dungeon crawler before talking more, it really gets way better after teams are unlocked.

The thread would have more chance at life if you made it about the late developer Imagepooch by the way, just mentioning 7th dragon/stella glow somewhere. Rather than being about one niche game three people worldwide played, it'd be about ten niche games thirteen people worldwide played.

I still miss them.

I've been playing it on and off for the first time. I'm up to the part after you first fight Rudolph in the desert.

Same. Feels like they were one of the last devs left that still knew how to make a game that felt Japanese.

Is this game a loli impregnation simulator?

Yes

>>14604515

What I liked about Stella Glow is how the fights never deescalate and only get harder as you go on forcing you to use what was learned earlier in the game, unlike other games where you can fuck around even late game.

I remember some years back when their CEO vanished off the face of the earth and the company went bankrupt. Wasn't a lot of discussion about it, but general opinion on /v/ at the time though was that they were a hit or miss enough dev that it wasn't a huge loss that the company went under. Granted, I haven't personally played much of their stuff other than Sands of Destruction, which was interesting enough but suffered publisher meddling on Sega's end, so I can't speak much of their quality myself.

>>14605253

Atlus doesn't generally include dual audio natively. I think it has an undub patch for use with a modded 3DS though.

>>14605216

Pretty sure they were already having financial problems for a while. In fact, Stella Glow was released in Japan after the studio had already went under from the look of things, leaving it something of a posthumous release by Sega as publisher for it.

>>14605488

There was speculation of Yakuza back when it happened, at least from western discussion. All that's known though is that the guy just fucking disappeared and apparently no one's seen or heard of him since.

>In April 2015, Gematsu reported that Idea Factory's Yoshiteru Sato shared that he was unable to reach Mikage privately and confirming that the Imageepoch CEO had gone missing. In the same article, Ryoei Mikage's Twitter account was noted as being inactive publicly for months. The following month, Imageepoch was confirmed to have gone bankrupt.

If we can talk Imageepoch games in general here, since 7th Dragon was brought up: Did anyone else feel like Code VFD was unfinished, or at least ended on an unsatisfying note? God tier OST though.

2020-II English never

c28cdb No.14623008

>>14622968

What VFD ended with you remaking the world and somehow making a mascot character into a human. I don't really think it was unsatisfying

7723db No.14623026

>>14623008

Look, I would fuck the shit out of human Nagamimi, but I just felt unfulfilled. Sure, it's a happier ending than 2020's, but the whole "maybe we'll see everyone again" thing was such a cocktease.

I'm mostly just shitter-shattered over the post-game dungeon, where if you kill the dragon like you should, Iod basically goes "woooooow so what if you stopped one universe from being infested with dragons, there's billions others that you'll never stop." Even though it's kind of funny how the last words in the game are basically ragemail, it just made me want to hunt more dragons.

That or at least kill Iod.

Her band, Siraph, is pretty good too. Has some members from School Food Punishment (RIP in pieces) in there so the sound is pretty similar and nostalgic, should you be familiar with them.

122ff7 No.14623783

>>14605655

i think that version is censored, but im not sure.

f3ac51 No.14623848

>>14622968

The ost was top tier, especially during those boss fights, but it's a fukcing shame since it just last for a couple of turn because of runeknight.

As I much as I loved class godhand int he last game, I still prefer the simple dungeon crawling setting of the first game rather than this dragon attacks Nippon save the world bullshit.

7e3e4f No.14624478

>>14622968

The OST was godly.
