I will preface this thread by saying yes, I have autism.

What games are out there that allow me to leave them on overnight or can be left on with tape holding down a button to perform some actio like continuously fighting trash mobs or something. I don't want the game to be able to play itself to completion, that would be silly, but I like the idea of playing a game that is able to be automated with the right setup / equipment to grind for xp or whatnot.

Have you considered suicide? I hear it’s a fun game.

But with all due seriousness, you could try FFXII, since it allows you to automate your party to an autistic degree, except for movement.

This is probably not relevant to you, but I think it's interesting nevertheless, so whatever. In Quest 64, your character's stats only improve when you perform an action that is tied to a corresponding stat. For instance, your physical attack damage would only increase when you use the staff to attack enemies. Likewise, your defense would only increase by taking damage. Your healing ability, which was tied to the water element, would only increase when you use it to heal yourself.

The agility stat is tied to the act of walking. Simply, the more you push forward on the analog stick, the more agility you accrue. The point is that you could go into a safe zone, like a town or something, then tape your analog stick at a 45 degree angle so that your character moves around in a circle, and leave the game on overnight in order to increase your agility. When you increase you agility, your character's movement space during combat increases, which allows the player to escape combat or get close enough to the enemy to use the melee attack, and you have a higher chance of avoiding incoming damage.

This is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about.

Thanks, will check it out and yes, I think about suicide often.

Have you tried pokemon? Grinding for shinies seems like what you want since you need to ride your bike for hours in a circle to hatch each egg and pray it's a shiny.

FFXII gambit system comes to mind, you don't need to hold anything for that in some places, and some etrian odyssey games allow you to draw auto-pathing onto the map, which combined with skills that automatically heal after/during battle, means all you need to do is hold down the 'a' button.

I'm sure there's some way to automate disgaea post-game grinding too

I would still have to play the game but it's just that certain portions of the game can be automated if you're clever about it. Like levelling up from level 10 to level 30 overnight. You still have to beat the game.

This sounds very interesting. Thank you.

Wouldn't the only appeal then be figuring out how to do that yourself? If people just tell you, what's the point?

I'm not sure if it's possible, but xenoblade chronicles auto-battles and if one of your ai allies is the healer, then theoretically you could level indefinitely while absent. You would need to figure out a way to reliably stay in combat though, since after a certain level different enemies will no longer automatically engage the party and you need to engage them manually.

Bravely default has a class that restores health and mana after battle, as well as a class with a skill that can instantly wipe any enemy sufficiently low enough level, so I'm pretty sure there's a way to automate that game too, however both of these classes are very late game.

You can get quite a few achievements in tf2 if you use the right custom map and execute a couple console commands.

For instance, if you want to get the Metal Massacre achievement, you must destroy a million bots. It would take a thousand hours to do this on a normal map. But I found a custom map, set up a custom wave of 143,000 1hp bots, and added some big props so they can't slip away and deliver the bomb. Then I placed a sentry and added +attack in console so I would always swing my wrench. With any luck, you could leave this setup going overnight and get the achievement in as little as 90 hours. Not instant, but far faster than Caliginous Caper.

Other achievement maps allow you to stand in one place and rack up kills which is great for damage or kill-based achievements. These aren't crucial to gameplay but if it tickles your autism it's worth a try.

Oh yeah, in Smash Bros Melee, you have to play multiplayer for 20 hours before Mewtwo will be unlocked. I forget exactly why this works, but you can just plug in 4 controllers, select 4 characters, turn off the game timer, and leave the characters standing there for a day or so. When you're done, and you end the battle, Mewtwo will challenge you.

8a841f No.14602751

>>14602748

er, actually, I think it's 16 hours, and each player adds 4 hours to the timer, so you can leave the game open for 4 hours, but since you have 3 other controllers plugged it, the timer gets multiplied. 4 hours per player = 16 hours.

still not sure if that's right.

Botting in oldschool runescape, it's very fun and redditors get fucking assblasted when theres a fuckton of bots on one world (which is world 1). Ik where youre coming from with autism i have it as well, Ive been addicted to it for about 3 months now. Still having fun with it. Be sure to do research for the best bot though since many can fuck you over.

d18970 No.14604242

You can do this in MGSV to a degree.

>Get three metric fuck loads of unprocessed resources.

>Find the spot south of Spudmay (I know I misspelled that) keep where you can run into the rock wall while triggering checkpoints.

>The slow process of processing resources is now automatic as long as you're running into that wall popping the checkpoint constantly.

Be warned that this is only worth it at or after the end of chapter 1.

Castlevania SOTN vs respawning zombies. I had a friend who did this, I never saw much point in it myself. Once I beat the game and could play as Richter I never went back to playing as Alucard with gay ARPG shit

Building afkable automated farms in terraria has been a fun one lately, botting in runescape, botting in general is good for this especially on private servers where their detection is usually nonexistent. Real fun to multibox +20 characters on some WoW pserver filling you pockets with gold and buying out the entire auction house

Oh damn you just reminded me, in Order of Ecclesia you can also summon familiars and grind out xp on zombies. I remember leaving my ds a few nights plugged into the charger running to max out all familiars & get some extra levels myself.
