Is there anything as good as or better than Red Faction: Guerilla? It's been 9 years, someone must have made something… r-right?
c0753d No.14576198
after 4 red faction games and numerous other games which experimented with destruction it was unanimously determined that ultimately building games (and communist propaganda) isn't a good way to create good entertainment. The shallow curiosity of having destructive environments in the end culminated in nothing but some pretty shit games. Now all they exist for is as a call back followed by tears of "why hasn't the industry improved this gimmick that is entertaining for 7 minutes at best!"

RFG is kind of the peak I think, it would be nice if there was a game that took a similar concept/engine but had more interesting building interiors, or more to do inside them.

Bad Company 2 really was the last good Battlefield.

Megaton Rainfall is kind of good for that, you can do pretty much whatever outside of missions, like going 9/11 on every skyscraper in sight. It's kind of janky and light on content but considering it started out as a Sony VR thing it's not bad as it could have been.

Vangers had some neat voxel shit from 98, it's not the focus of the game and it's a bit janky, but neat little things like jumping through ceilings, leaving tire tracks, and brittle/worn terrain collapsing as you go over/through it.

Space Engineers can be better, but only when the great lord Clang is not watching.
X-Morph Defense also has some neat destruction and debris mechanics where you can block paths with boss remains and carefully demolished building parts and debris.
