Has anyone bought custom buttons, shells, backlit LCD screens, and custom Lithium rechargeable battery mod for the GBA, I want to make a Backlit rechargeable GBA but I also want it all see through blue and I've found shells for this but what's stopping me is the feat the buttons will be garbo when I finish it.

There's more than grey to it. You've got the pale off-white grey, the black, and the red highlights, and then the darker grey accents. White (in this case an almost-white) and red and black is a great colour scheme.

Any color will look mediocre when it's done cheaply. throwaway electronics that use glossy black to look like a premium product are so easy to see through and it just looks bad. the ps3 phat's black however looks quite nice and gives off the aura of being a rich person. grey is professional and no messing around, the machine knows it's just a machine and is designed to be useful, it's the balance between entertainment and being a tool.

No the micro actually looked great because it was the same resolution on a smaller screen, which meant higher ppi. The hipster trash is actually lower resolution which means it can't even fucking display the games correctly no matter what size the screen is.

Really mad at myself for not having more Afrika Corps Aesthetics saved. Confederates had some descent grey colors too, but I've neglected saving more for my grey-tan aesthetics list besides modern American equipment.
Sage because not exactly relevant to thread, my favorite color scheme was always the new Grey GBA color scheme that came out with Pink and Light Blue. It also had a brighter scheme.

I like that specific variant versions of gaming items are so much more available these days. Just a decade ago they were extremely rare beyond simple color changes. For example, this Switch controller, which in black and gold is totally bitching except for the Link on the handle. At least you don’t see it very often, and it’s way better than the other kind, which has a full color Link and ruins the aesthetic.

Can someone please explain to me why these were never sold outside Japan? I would've paid a lot of premium to get my hands on this back in the late 90s/early 00s, simply by virtue of being able to play in bed or outside on a hot summer day without using something to see the screen. Hell I'd even pay for batteries more often just for the privilege.
