I've actually always had a soft spot for the concept myself.
Shame there seems to be a dedicated effort to fuck the idea up and not have it in games. I thought between The Order 1886 and Bloodborne we'd get something, but Bloodborne ended up being more about C'thulu and good and The Order shit the bed so hard… I don't even care enough to think of a funny ending to that, it sucked.
Considering just how easy the legend of lycanthropy lends itself to game mechanics, such as powering up and risks involved with usage, you figure it would be a popular thing in games. Both as a player mechanic and something for enemies to have as a hazzard. I still remember in CoH during the Halloween events you could fight the nazi stand ins and if you got them to low life they would try to turn into werewolves, making them much harder if you didn't finish them off or stop them. More things should do that.

Altered beast had a pretty stable way of handling it; beat-em-up where the level determined the man-beast you turned into with associated powers. The ps2 remake was a neat idea but with shitty controls and weird as fuck playout of events.
Bloody Roar was a neat way of introducing it into a combat manner and with the various species of tings people could turn into, and of course, the eventual attempt of falsely recreating said transformation in people who weren't related to them.
We just don't have many folks who like to mess with the idea of a "beast within".

Actually, funny Tabletop story. I was DM'ing a game where the 'I seduce the waitress' player was playing a Barb and had rolled 4 18's and his lowest stat was 14. He basically rolls his way out of any punishment I give him (VD mostly) and he's still a monster in battle. So I come up with a little plan. The party is investigating a storehouse out of the city, and find a second shipping and recieving area underneath it (Black Market for some cult if I remember correctly) and run into some people. The NPC's just come off as normal people, as if it's a simple acting encounter and nobody things to do any spot checks. So, predictably, the Barb tries to seduce the female there. I keep my poker face on and say that she's trying to hide it but that she cant resist that muscular phisique of his. Just as I figured, he rolls for blowjob, and what do you know he gets like a 23 on the roll. I say she asks for a quiet corner for some privacy and proceeds to preform fellatio. Part of what made this work is that he Barb would always lead with that, and then after his success or failure the actual talking would happen. So the players start interrogating the workers, and of course can't think of a good reason to explain why they're there or part with some gold to bribe them. So all of the workers transform into their half wolf forms and attack.
The look on the Barb players face was priceless as I turn to him and say "You start to hear a commotion as you notice that her BJ starts to feel a little different."
He looks down to see a werewolf on his dick. Of course he succeeds with a nat 20 to a diplomacy check to continue blowjob under the philosophy of, and I quote "I didn't say to stop…"
But yeah, basically a player character removed from what ended up being a very, very tense battle without the front line there to help. She ended up joining them as an NPC after the other workers were killed. With the Barb insisting that she be allowed in under the logic that if her friends had killed the party that he'd have joined up with them. Luckily after that we didn't have the seduction problem anymore, mostly because he couldn't resist the joke of giving the wolf her favorite 'bone' to play with.

I think the main hiccup with "were-beasts" is that artists need to specifically target the Beast part of it and bring out the special attributes associated with the creature the human turns into. Basically, only small hints that it's male or female, if at all, and that's only due to the human beforehand. Bloody Roar handled this rather well with Jenny being the only one who was "not beast enough". The rest of the crew when transformed could easily pass as either male or female and focused on their attributes.

I think Ice is more of an 'undead' magic than particularly a vampires magic.
Which kind of makes sense and doesn't. Corpses don't create body heat so obviously the cold body goes with the ice theme, but being unable to create body heat they would actually be super weak to freezing solid and being unable to move.
So I'd wager that the appropriate magical element that could go thematically with them would be either heat or air related. I think the best would be to go with a derivative of air and say they use sound. It ties in nicely into wolves howling and barking and can express both raw power with shattering shockwaves of brute force and a grace/nobility in otherworldly howls.

Bushido blade is pretty fun. I was playing it with friends, but I don't think it has enough depth to entertain people in the long term. At least in the way it's done. Half the time neither person really understands how they won.

But the truth is enjoying anthropomorphic beasts or even finding them sexy has nothing to do with it. People just don't like socially awkward people, because they're weird.
