More than anything, that shows /v/ has too few active vols. Ignoring the globals, there's what, 10 of them? And half are barely active. The problem isn't the number of moderation activities, it's that four individuals are responsible for dictating what /v/ looks like, with 82-92% of the deletions in those logs. And Mark by far is the largest contributor, with 41-51% of all deletions. This is a problem whether you like him or not, due to the lack of accountability for board owners. What those logs should look like is the opposite of what they do: 25 or so /v/ staff sharing the burden almost equally, with a minority of direct action from the BO.
As a large board, /v/ needs heavy moderation at times. The problem is, I have no faith in the team responsible for carrying that out, so it would be better if they didn't moderate at all outside the global rule.

For #2, it turns out that even I was doing it wrong. There are two ban desc formats
>Created a new x-timeframe ban
>Created a x-timeframe ban
I only accounted for the "Created a x-timeframe" text which excluded the others. After correcting my code to truly count all bans, I get these new numbers.

Nope, still adds up even after making sure I was parsing the date/time correctly.
The only thing I can think of is that a single ban instance is reused multiple times (hence "Created a ban" vs "Created a new ban"). If so, you will get a lower count than I do since I am counting log entries whereas you're counting raw data. However, it does look like you're querying the log directly, so I guess I don't know now.

Logging two different actions at the exact same time shouldn't be an issue so long as the database has a unique constraint on user, activity type, and timestamp.
At any rate, creating a subquery of distinct values and then performing your aggregate functions on the subquery should eliminate the dupes.
