I've been pirating my entire life and never had much trouble
for firsts, try to get into private trackers, they're generally pretty safe and tested, and strong community to protect it,
but they don't always have everything, and usually lag behind even for popular stuff, on other hand they usually keep older torrents for longer
when first option fails, I look into the usual safe bets, and rely on community feedback
for example torrentz2 is a trusty bet, if something is malware ridden it get pretty strongly down voted,
it also indexes torrents from pretty everywhere else, so its a safe bet to find even hard cases,

Not if you're on top of things. Notification systems really help. You can have Melonbooks send you notifications of your favorite artists. As far as I know IGG is not a single person. It has several "moderators" and they even accept uploads from regular folks. Someone might have decided by himself to be a dick without telling anyone else, because the bigger releases seem to definitely lack this, as well as most others really. If this gets to the admins ears the person that caused my indeed get removed from the team. Or not. But if it is a moderator he might as well delete comments related to it, as long as he is the first to seem them.

It still surprises me how many artists I've known yet didn't know they drew kemono. Like I've followed Wokada for years but only recently found out they drew kemono. I'm really enjoying this Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner. It's pretty expensive but you can get a refurbished one for much less with the same quality. It removes a lot of the noise/grain for you and allows many other options for scanning. It has much better software than the Canon scanner I used before. My only gripe with this thing is that it doesn't save scanned images under PNG.
To reach the quality on the second image though, you'll need to use software like Photo Studio and Photoshop to remove the rest of the noise. If not it'll look like something in the third image. Where all the grain is still there. It's really noticeable in her hair where there are a bunch of random pixels with similar but off colors. The image still looks good, but removing the grain gives the best results like the second image. Don't beat yourself up over dust. You'll always have it no matter how well you clean. But any real obvious specs I remove. It makes editing dark images a pain.

I personally don't rebind my books and haven't looked up a guide to do so. Now debinding has many guides that are easy to find and many of the techniques they show are good and viable. You don't even need a heat gun since a hair dryer does the job just fine while costing less. Now what they don't tell you is how much you want to heat glue. You want to soften the glue to the point where you can easily pull out pages. But heating it too much will cause the glue to completely melt and become stringy which will ruin many pages or cause you to edit much more than you should.

I've done a torrent of this before but I would say it's less convenient for both me as the provider and for users when compared to IPFS. As a provider I remember the torrents taking forever to generate and different ones crashed different clients.
For users, they can either use IPFS directly or use whatever HTTP tool they want to fetch the content, no need to even install anything just to browse, which seems good for an image collections. If you just want 1 folder, run wget on it and you're done, easy.

The limiting factor should be my upload speed either way, which is fast. You should be able to download 90GB from me alone in less than 1 day. If you're downloading over HTTP you're stuck at the speed of the gateway (ipfs.io), if you use IPFS yourself you'll download it from peers directly, which should be faster than the gateway. I'm also reachable on CJDNS if you use that.
Either way, if you have a better place to upload them directly, give me access and I'll send them over. I'm going to continue hosting them on IPFS until the thread dies at least, but most likely they will remain until my next garbage collection which could be months from now if I don't need any free space for a while.

If you're running `ipfs get` everything you already downloaded should be in your datastore, which is local. I stopped being lazy and started scanning Hitler finally. I don't think this will need any editing so I'll probably finish it tonight or tomorrow. It's around 300 or so pages. Also I feel retarded for never using the "Document" setting instead of "Photo" for scanning black and white images in doujins. Gets rid of see-through and makes the images look less bright and gray. Now I don't need to add cardboard for every gray image I come across to prevent see-through. Now about Hitler, the holocaust stuff is only at the very beginning and the end. Everything else is about Hitler himself. I'm glad the author did that as its been talked about to death.

The feedback is appreciated though. Yes, I was scanning in a large resolution and after I read these posts I realize why that's pointless. With artbooks I scan, detail is everything so a large resolution is preferred. But manga? That doesn't carry a fourth of the detail. A smaller resolution and file size would be preferred. I'll continue scanning at a smaller size from now and deal with the other 100 images later.

While true, I don't think the jpg artifacts will be noticeable on a freshly scanned image that hasn't been opened. When converted to PNG there shouldn't be any noticeable artifacts. Afterwards I can check for flaws.

When you have your own daemon running you're pulling from peers, when you download over HTTP the data has to go from my node, to the gateway (ipfs.io in this case) and then to you. The public gateway is almost always going to be slower than downloading from peer(s) directly.

When I made the torrent before I had to put everything in zips which took forever and doubled my disk usage. Yeah that's what I was saying, Shigeru Mizuki's Hitler. is formatted fine to just rename to cbz, so my OS associates it with my cbreader. The adolf ni tsugu just needs extracting and renaming of rars to cbr and it works fine too. The internal format just needs to have the images as a readable format and numbered correctly

I'm scanning doujins again but I'm trying out a different way of scanning in the hopes of better results. Of these 2 images, which do you think looks better?

It was actually around 20k-50k. Most died due to diseases spread by fleas and many of the gory scenes shown in propaganda videos were due to allied bombings of encampments because they got bad intel telling them that they were military bases. Yet the allies blamed the germans and pretended they caused all of it. They then lined up the germans and gunned down a bunch of unarmed soldiers which is a war crime, but it's OK because the allies won.
To make matters worse, the reason why so many were starving in concentration camps, including the german soldiers there, was because allied forces took over railroads that moved german supplies. Gas chambers disguised as showers? More bullshit pushed by the allies and jews. The "gas chamber" was to remove pesticides from clothing. Even the doors are marked with a huge skull and warnings on them. The concentration camps actually weren't even bad to live in and while jewish people were afraid at times, they were treated fairly and kept well.

I'm considering the first one more too despite liking the darker color of the second. Using Descreening is what causes the blur, but it gets rid of the screening (that pattern you see where lines are going vertical and horizontal all over the place). I'll tweak the settings some more before I upload these doujins. I know the one in the second image has already been put on the panda but the quality was LWND tier so I'll upload a better version.
