Remake shouldn't mean appealing to a totally different audience. It doesn't make the combat fresh, it makes it completely different. Also turn based combat has nothing to do with alternating the story or making it more "alive". Final Fantasy combat barely has that much depth to begin with but the new combat system will most likely not have as much depth as Kingdom Hearts 1 and will most likely be all style and no substance like Final Fantasy XV or something stupidly simplified like FFXIII. After taking ages to make the game, they'll make the same mistake and dumb down the gameplay to reach the widest of audiences.
