Not entirely likely since, nintendo has somewhat good history with legacy support for their systems see: only the shutdown of the actual server host for matchmaking killing off their DS/Wii online support.
In addition their current host for 3DS/Wii U matchmaking being more reliable than before and I think the same as what they use for their Switch servers. Minus the servers they're using for Voice lobbies/maintained server data (Stats and all that fun shit)
However now that they have switched management it's possible that they won't keep legacy support for as or so long.
I'd say it's at best a 55/45 since they'll have good PR and still be able to cash in on Software sales (though not as much since the latter is out of production) for the 3DS/Wii U.

I really loved the idea of the Wii U. It's a shame not many games utilized it's unique functionalities. On the other hand, I completely fucking hate the Switch's gimmick. I wish Nintendo would go back to making standard controllers. The Joycons are too fucking tiny. The Wii had a bazillion attachments, and the Wii U's pro-controllers weren't worth it just to play Smash or similar multiplayer games. I guess that's what I get for buying newer systems though. I've learned my lesson and almost exclusively play PC/emulation now or buy older games for cheap.

I played and beat the two Zelda HD games or whatever, Skyward Sword, both Galaxies and the last thing I played on it was a playthrough of BOTW. I gave it to a friend after that. As I said before, I learned my lesson with the Wii U. I bought it at launch and I only ended up with around 5 games for it. 3, if you count single player games because Mario Kart and Smash Bros. are honestly for multiplayer only. Buying pro-controllers was a kick in the arse too, because I could've bought more single player games instead of trying to find everyone a controller for Smash Bros. only to go back to Melee or Brawl because the stage selection in Sm4sh honestly fucking sucks. My GameCube still sees good use, probably the most worthwhile console I've ever bought. Not to mention I remember wireless controllers being fairly cheap. And games for it are cheap as fuck now, around a dollar or 2 at most pawn shops or thrift stores. I guess that spoiled me in a way too, now I'm an extreme stickler for spending any money unless I absolutely have to. Those opinions come from experience, I'm just going to wait for the Switch to get cheaper like the Wii did and by then it'll have a wider selection of games. I've become a lot more patient in general too, there's no incentive anymore for me to buy brand new video games.

The joycons fall into the same position as the Wiimote - I can keep it at my sides and be actually laid back for once, something I can't do when hunched over a tiny piece of shit. And pretty much the only "standard" controller that feels comfortable to use, aside from third party, is the Duke.

The 3DO has a few excellent games (Road Rash, Need for Speed, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, and a couple others) in a sea of forgettable trash. At least the WiiU has homebrew now, but it's still not much considering the lack of homebrew support. Even a softmodded Wii (especially an early one that supports BootMii) is superior to a softmodded vWii. Native HDMI for vWii is nice I suppose, but component cables or a decent HDMI adapter for the Wii are both fine. Unless there's a way with CFW to boot straight to the vWii Homebrew channel, I'd rather just use my Wii for doing exactly that.
I wanted to get a couple more accessories (better gamepad battery, couple new GC/Smash controllers for Nindendont) before the WiiU went completely EoL, but I guess I missed my chance. A lot of WiiU stuff is going up in price or being discontinued (especially official stuff because Nintendo has always been shit with availability). I might be fine though for the former at least. I usually just left the gamepad dead and used my pro controller with no issues for a lot of games.
I bought mine refurbished in 2014 when Nintendo started announcing games and made me think the WiiU would start to be a good console.

For selling products, they've been notorious for keeping supply low so selling out of a product makes them look like they're selling a lot more. (Not increasing supply to match demand doesn't even make sense from an economics standpoint, but they've done this for decades.) If they wanted to help customers they'd have the desired items in stock and not force them to buy from scalpers or wait for the next shipment. (If there is one.) They also stop selling many items before demand entirely dies. Some of those items are often only available on their website for whatever reason. (GC component cables, GC broadband adapter, improved WiiU battery, etc.)

Because Facebook/Twitter/social media exist and that spreads media of Nintendo's games (from users) instead of being self contained to Miiverse.
The thing is Miiverse was good because you could get all those autistic game posts and art from the players (of different ages) all in their own self contained communities/forums while at the same time having the challenege of making funny innuendo posts they make that can get past the moderators.
