Let's talk about Sandbox games, but not exactly about games like GTA or any games that give you a slight degree of freedom as well as missions that you have to do. I'm talking about actual interactive toys, that are less like an actual game and like a toy that you fuck around in, whether that would be a building game like Minecraft, a large-scale strategy game in which victory is not as important as what story you weave through your actions, or a simulation game in which you observe what is happening while changing small things about the environment.

Any good games you guys can recommend that feel more like a bundle of toys that you fuck around with and also aren't completely shit?

I would recommend Kingdom and Castle and Stonehearth but the first doesn't have much content and Stonehearth is still ea.

You could try Rimworld, Factorio and the likes.

The character/s you start with doesn't necessarily have to live.

As long as you still control someone, the game will go on.

Latest patch has been recently released, that's why there was a recent thread on it.

Rimworld is a lot of fun I'm playing it recently.

Kenshi is also a lot of fun and playing that too.

I feel like Terraria is also mostly a sandbox, though it's a side-scrolling 2d version of one.

My last suggestion doesn't belong I'm going to say Elona is a fun game where you can dick around endlessly in a no-permadeath-roguelike setting, and instead of sand you have your own exhaustive character development and that of your pets and property (castle/house/dungeon) to keep you busy between dungeon runs and quests, that you do at your own pace.
