I use GIMP, to fix alignment I add guides to the canvas and enable "snap to guides". Another method I use when I'm adding a lot of images and they're all the same size, is making one cell and tiling it throughout the chart, then pasting the images into the cells (edit -> paste into) so it's a pixel-perfect fit.

I don't think it's a very rigorously curated list, people were mostly throwing out developers they like and they were being added indiscriminately. E.g. Oddworld Inhabitants, who haven't truly made a game in 13 years (unless you count Just Add Water's remake). Or the inclusion of Devolver Digital for some reason, even though they're a publisher, not a developer.
