He's the same range as the others. The mechanics behind crits are removed from stats. There's a reason he never got far, shoot fighters have a hit/miss situation, it's the same thing that happened, of all bits, to Terry Bogard back in the day.

Qwark, N. Tropy, and Ski Free Yeti were my own nomination and submissions, for those curious about this shit. After all the characters I've made for manias, there were bound to be a few that made it, among some other situations. I hope explaining what I know and cluing folks into the design is going to reveal that I wasn't really building these characters to just "win." I wanted people to get into fights, I wanted to create pacing and movesets and behavior people would look at. Bryan is a brutal shoot fighter, Clown is the fucking clown, Rawk Hawk is fucking Hawk Hogan, N. Tropy had all kinds of circular and roundabout attacks with his spindly legs (clockspinning etc.,) Qwark was supposed to be the big (actually cowardly) meathead he was in universe, the Ski Free Yeti ate people, /v/ just went straight for the win, Jaguar Warrior was an angry blessrusher, Jimmy had a moveset like he had in game and same with Russel, Riminah was a showy power fighter and the Mentor was a ground MMA fighter who wanted to end matches without making waves, Tiny Tiger was meant to do jumps as his attacks like he does in every game…

I am convinced Giant/Giant is not a fair typing because it takes a specialized type of fighter to win. Lots of folks in the past days of Returns etc. have been super meticulous in moderating anything with these typings. To be honest, yes, there are some wrestlers that are unmoving stones and sometimes that's appropriate, but they need to be balanced. The amount of tens, giant size, and giant/giant on hands, as well as the fact that he only goes for game winning submissions holds later on makes for an unfair squash character.

It's why I wanted to do hands myself and made Oberon instead when that happened, because I wanted to do eye-poking and pick-mining and goofy shit with it. No offense to the designer, well, if you take offense to what I said I'm sorry.

Wampa was giant/giant and that's why basically nothing ever landed on him. It wasn't fun to watch. He was hated.

I mean, now there's even more on the table here but part of the philosophy with balancing was explicitly explained. I said outright, "I want to have these folks characters fucked with the least as possible. In testing? Before things got "fixed?" Garrett was one of the best shoot fighters I've ever seen because he was designed in a way that choked the game mechanics. You can't really just shit on his stats because they're specialized, you can't take away random flash pin crits, and you can't just stop him from being a technical fighter who plays the strategy into the guaranteed submission hold later.

Would that be affected by increasing the percentage on grapple(run)? And if so, it'd probably be better to do it when the opponent's at large damage, because they move out of the corner too fast at small damage, because it takes a tad while for the wrestler to position themselves for the run attack on the turnbuckle.

It's really complicated. For one, they need low discretion (which unfortunately affects breathing,) because that affects how they prioritize being in the center of the ring versus the edges, as well as how much they care about pins in the center vs. racking up damage. Another, they need to have a relatively common habit of hammer-throwing, because that's the usual set up. It also helps to have them use the headlock (3D) a bit because they'll position on the sides or in the corners and they're -supposed- to headlock into the corners more often but irish whipping into the posts is much easier.

Hand o' Evil is on the high end of minmax, though i think at least some of the success is from having a very 'free' path to the finals from style matchups.

I might be wrong on this but damage at least partially carries over (based off the bigger starts of later matches) so if Hand had gone up against more grounded fighters early it might not have been as dominant.

The submissions are more of flavor thing though, torture chambers and all that. For nerfs, flip offensive style to Heel to turn off the giant trait and feel free to change 'Opp Down'%s to do the submissions more early and less late. Chip down attack stats evenly if problem persists.

I am a bit surprised Garrett would rate high, i found him to be very high variance. Roll-ups do little 'body damage' ,so often even when their spirit is out the opponent keeps breaking submissions before the ref arrives to call it. A fair few times he crit into the ropes and lost after due to that.

I have since made him crit-fish less and wrestle more until late game, but that version also does better overall which may not be what you want if the previous one already over-performed.

Anyway, if any of my creations need to be toned down just bring up the who, what & why and i'll fix it.
