I've never played the original so I'm not sure, but damn does the new content feels forced. Just finished the last boss fight and instead of getting the credits they introduce a 3rd worldine like you expect out of a fanfic.

I loved the original so heavily biased; yeah, I think the new content is overall worthwhile.

The 3rd storyline is definitely a missing piece, after the original ended without an actual resolution to the crux of the game's conflict other than "yeah we're trying to figure it out and solve it, maybe someday".

And yeah, the (((DLC))) is something of a downer, but it's more cosmetic than anything. There isn't a whole lot of additional story content there, and even then it's only $13.95.

Stick to the original, this game Atlus doesn't deserve a single cent.

It's shit, the same 4 voice actors nintendo always gets doing the same fucking voices, it's just stretched with art on top, the screen isn't wider to compensate so the sprites are blurry as fuck. The Marie adds nothing, unlike SJ's Marie, who is your daughter from the future who you kill and then let the world get destroyed.

Horribly overrated. Most of the time, the devs are an entirely different team due to turnover rates and have no idea what made the game good in the first place. Prequels are better and spiritual sequels are fine too. A game that does essentially the same thing with timelines and time travel, but explores a drastically different story, would be amazing. I actually pitched a game idea to AGDG once about what was essentially a remake of Life is Strange where a teen girl hops between timelines to solve mysteries in her town. Think LiS without all the gay Marxist bullshit mixed with Twin Peaks and a little Alan Wake.
