So these fucking leaves are still in charge of the IP ? What a shame. The only good sequel they made was DR2 and I suspect they were heavily supervised by the original team. I have doubts that Capcom can make a better game than DR1 but it doesn't hurt to try, it's at least sure to be better than anything the leaf studio can shit out.
I don't even consider DR3&4 canon at this point even if I know I'm a little bit too autistic about this series, it's just a shame to see one of the few good IPs made last gen go to shit in such a short time. I remember back then, I was actually pretty optimistic about Capcom, Dead Rising was good, Lost Planet was fun and DMC4 was enjoyable despite the backtracking of Dante's part.Years later, feels like it's only been downhill since then despite Dragon's Dogma.

I have to admit, though, I did unironically like the films (As well as the rest of his work). So, I think that I may find the MH movie to be enjoyable. That being said, while it may be an enjoyable movie, it highly doubt that it will be a good Monster Hunter movie. The story being "Two worlds crossing over" (One is our world, the other is where the creatures live and the people who are capable of fighting them) and the whole concept of things going from "Normal to Abnormal" doesn't really fit with the series. Although, I do have a bit of a hard time with think what else they could really do with a MH film.
Actually, I lie, I can think of one concept that could work. That is, if they were to make the film akin to a "Slice of life" story that they do for films about firefighters and cops, except making it about the monster hunters and the guild(s) they work for. However, if they were to do that, I doubt they would be handing the project over to him. His field of expertise tends to be making enjoyable action films that bring in money. Therefore, going off of that alone, you already know Capcom's intentions with the film. They don't care about making a good product (Which should already be more than evident if you see where they're going with titles released in the past few years). Also, strangely enough, I do remember Anderson saying that he does like the Monster Hunter series, but we won't really know much about the state of the film until the first trailer comes. So, all we can do is worry over speculation.
