I like DQ VI and IX

I think the combat flows better and the world and character design are better than final fantasy, only FF games I've liked enough to play more than one or two hours of are the original tactics, III and Dissidia 2

Because its not very pretentious and every single main line DQ game are actually finished instead of being in vaporware hell for decades before being rushed to release. Also because the spin offs are solid games instead of shallow cash-ins

My favorite one is DQ5 because of how the entire story unfolds.

How's 11? Early previews made it look like it might've fallen for the open world meme but every video I see is just normal ass battles like you'd see in all the other games.

Because unlike ff, it did not try to have 2deep4you storylines and it hasn't lost sight of what it wants to be.

It's gather a party up and adventure then beat some big baddie at the end.

It's simple but it works.

The latest ff on the other hand is so detached from its roots than it became gay band boys having an orgy on their Humvee in the middle of nowhere.

Ff7 was the start of its descent to interactive cinematic movie and I don't see fanboys complaining about it like resident evil fags complained about re4.

FF7 is way more open than something like FF4.

I'm enjoying the Dragon Quest Builders demo on Switch right now, I can't wait to play the full game soon.

Must get onto more DQ games. Only played 5, 6, 7 and, with a handful of spin-offs.

11 looks pretty neat, and that top-down gimmick on the 3DS appeals to me for some reason. It's like they loved the game enough to make it twice, visually.

Been starting chronologically so far so I can't say, finished I and into II, been playing the fan -translation of the PSX collection of the two.

They've shown some age but I'm having some fun.

Watch out for a bug in II when the prince decides to succumb to a curse at an inn, when you get him back the speech text becomes un-advancable garbage and you'll want to load the save on an untranslated version to get past it, then load back to the translated one.

You mean the SFC bundle? As far as I know the only main series entries for the original Playstation were IV and VII, with IV having never gotten fan translated. I could be wrong though, I suppose.
