The Paradise Fortress of RePure Aria and Rakuen Iseki no Limulilim are both decent Metroidvanias.
The latter has a mechanic where after you defeat foes they become passive, and you can fuck them and IIRC you get some kind of in game currency, but you can also pick them up and move them to different screens and if you get a bunch of them together you can get them to fuck each other and they will generate the currency that way.

Eiyuu Senki is kind of in the same vein as Sengoku Rance in terms of combat. There is a heavy emphasis on the actual story elements though. There is something like 50+ girls and if you want to get every scene it will take a huge chunk of time to go through all the different character events. Luckily though you have no turn limits and you can go at any pace you like.

In Rakuen Iseki no Limulilim you have 2 playable characters that you need to switch between occasionally to solve puzzles and occasional to do combat. Additionally IIRC you have to lift up one character and throw them to reach some locations

Played through all of them during the last year; I can guarantee you they are translated. Make sure you play them in chronological order, the continuity between them is much, MUCH higher than in pretty much any other series. The recaps are rare and only very basic, refferences to events of previous games are constant, characters from previous games make appearance constantly, and the story expects you to know your shit.

Your objective in the game is to enter a dungeon full of monsters to find monster girl lovers.
The main character developed a fighting technique that alows him to defeat monsters without killing them, as a result he can rape defeated monster girls while they're defenseless, but this also means he never levels up and has to find other ways to get stronger to defeat bigger enemies.
The battles are automatic, if you touch an enemy that is blocking your way and you will defeat it, tt will be gone forever but you will lose a set amount of HP depending on your stats. It's not easy to replenish HP, so you have to be super careful.

Rance 3 is pretty good. It's the game where they really ramped up the scale and made everything more grand. It's an extremely easy game, with combat basically being a novelty. You can spam Rance Attack to great effect until you get Felis. Then you can summon her and hit auto battle to win everything save for the final 2 bosses which are a big difficulty spike. What's left is to enjoy the characters and adventure which is the game's strong point.
Rance 4 I really want to like but the gameplay is a slog. They wanted to make the game more in depth than previous titles, but it comes at a steep price. Where in 3 you only control Rance while your teammates are AI controlled, in 4 you have to micromanage your entire party. When nearly every random battle has 3-6 enemies to deal with, moving your party of 5 characters into position and dispatching them takes way too long. The other main problem is the menus. It's a pain to do something as simple as compare weapon strengths. Everything else about the game I loved. The setting is cool, the newer, more detailed artwork is fantastic, and the character interactions are as great as ever. The gameplay just lacks the polish that later Rance games have.

Recently have been playing through a game called The Dungeon of Lulu Farea. It's a dungeon crawler puzzle game most closely related to desktop dungeons if you need a non-hentai comparison. >>14169122 did not describe it at all but for those who do not know DD none of the monsters move or attack unless you choose to pick a fight with them. The whole puzzle aspect revolves around finding the path through the weaker monsters that leads to the power ups you'll need to fight the stronger ones. The lewd scenes are still images with mountains of text involving molesting your disabled opponent into submission while telling them you love them.

The Evil Spirit of The Heavenly Sky is a fairly competent fantasy platformer in the vein of eroico except relying on more standard game over rape for the heroine.
The succubus series of games, succubus, castlevania succubus, and succubus tower are all very competent gameplay wise and covering a number of gameplay genres but I find the H content to be really lacking in all but the original succubus.
Alpus and the Dangerous forest is a mediocre survival platformer that tries to be creepy. I like the art style but the animation is sub-par but I still managed to push through it. Completely random game overs are accompanied by animated CG game over rape scenes while some just have sprite rape. It isn't all that long but still has some worth to it.
If anyone wants a laugh, Project X has been in development longer than some of the anons here have been alive(underage faggots). Sonic the hedgehog beat em up with rape and every stupid fetish under the sun. It got another update recently.

Game's relatively good, a nice KH clone, but nothing to write home about, there are a few cool bosses and pretty cool secrets to explore. I want the dev to finish the shit show already since he promised to release the source code so it could be modded. NEVER EVER. Also, as for erotic content, I'd say the game is more ecchi than everything, you can make girls naked in-game, but you can unlock them on a model editor to make them do sex things.
There's also Cloud Meadow. I personally haven't tried it yet, but it's what's left of Breeding Season. I've heard it's shit with barely any porn content on it, but I like the style and premise, so I'll give it a while before trying it. Evenicle is a textbook example of what OP is talking about. The setting is better developed than most games I've played in the last decade with tons of lore about how the world came to be the way it is, and the girls are all given enough development that you'll come to like them all even if they're not your preference physically or in terms of personality. Dialogue among the main 5 cast members is funny as hell a lot of the time, too. The gameplay is simple, but well thought out. Skill selection can make a big impact on your options in battle. The icing on the cake: the Japanese version of the game came with a side disc where the MC is switched with Rance.

I'm a relative novice to eroge, having only played MGQ, Sengoku Rance (which I have yet to finish) and Kamidori Alchemy Meister (which is what I've been playing recently). MGQ doesn't really fit the criteria of this thread, but the other two are solid games in their own right. Of the two I'd say KAM is the better game mechanics wise, but Rance is a much more entertaining character and I find myself smiling whenever I played Sengoku Rance. KAM also has likeable characters but feels a lot more… I think 'vanilla' is the right word for what I feel.

It's little talked about because it's fucking shit. The story, despite promising premise, turns into "monsters dindu nuffin!", h-scenes are unimaginative, and the gameplay is extremely repetitive and grindy, you run out of items to buy in the shop nearly immediately (making money worthless), and there aren't even any real side mission, just "grind until next story mission becomes available".
Its sales pitch would make you think you are going to be evil and, you know, have fun, but in reality, you spend half the time fighting monsters because reasons, and when you do fight adventurers, you don't even kill them, you let them go because the MC is that much of a pussy.
In short, the game provides nothing that, say, Rance 6 wouldn't, and is inferior to Rance 6 in every regard, from gameplay to story to artwork to writing. What pisses me off the most, however, is that I feel fucking deceived by the premise.

So troop count is both "health" and "attack power". There's 3 tiers of power, where going to another tier means each extra troop adds less power. The tiers are 1-500, 501-1000 and 1000+. The recruitment cost also goes up as you move up tiers. That means to want to get your Foot Soldiers and Warriors to 1000 troops ASAP.
The other thing to keep in mind is that stats act as a sort of multiplier/divider for damage. The difference between a Foot unit with 6 defense and 9 defense is night and day, same with a Warrior with 6 attack and 9 attack. That means commanders with strong base stats (like Katsui starter foot guy) or commanders with a lot of ways to boost their stats (like Rance) are the ones you want to recruit troops on.
Mild spoilers on combat mechanics: the amount of movement the combat bar moves is based on both the amount of damage dealt and how many instances of damage your side dealt since the start of the battle. Opening up with a Full Power Attack 2 will move the bar far more in your favor than if it's your last move in battle, even if the damage is the same. The other thing to note is that the Battle Effect % is a straight up multiplier at the end of every calculation that increases damage dealt and reduces damage taken by the listed % of whoever holds the advantage. That makes high speed Ninjas with Battlefield Construction REALLY FUCKING GOOD in drawn out fights. The move itself is super fast and Ninjas have a speed bonus, so a 7 or 8 speed Ninja can get 3 casts off before most of the other units in the battle get to act. Tacticians buffs are also another multiplier based on the commander's Int stat, 5% per Int. Miko's upgraded single target heal skill has a huge speed multiplier; with 6-7 Int and Speed, a Miko will be able to keep your commanders at full health in battle and save you a ton of money.

Games geared to learning are hit & miss. If it's just teaching Hiragana, follow the YT vid above & grind them fuckers for two weeks straight. Get a hold of Kana or any app that let's you guess hiragana & katakana until you're comfy looking through any manga raw and going "hey wait I know these runes".
Then, grind lightly as you move on to vocab & grammar. This is where shit normally gets hard, because dedication's a must, here. Get Anki, go with some recommended decks, run them every possible day in a moment where you have time. If you don't have the time, make some. I usually do mine in the morning because no one's on my nuts as I commute to work.

Pick a game, pick a book, pick an animu. Go full autist. Make it a routine hour. You're not going to be literate out the gate. But the more you practice, the more the meaning, syllabary shortcuts, and comprehension will sink in so that you can begin to follow the context of paragraphs and dialogue better. You WILL see improvement even as you get insanely frustrated.
Recommend Precure because certain raws happen to come with kana subtitles and the words they use aren't complex and you NEED to get used to hearing the simple shit first. It's also long enough that you'll get fresh practice per ep and feel like you've taken a journey (48 average eps).
Move up when you feel like you've gotten a hold on shit. Set milestones for yourself once you feel you've established a good routine, and keep to them if you can.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention: The Village of Nightmare games have a special place in my heart. It's a sort of adventure game series where you play as the succubus servant of a high-ranking succubus and you have the goal of corrupting an entire village for the glory of your master. You might want to save them due to class stat caps but they aren't used in recipes or quests or anything like that and most of the time you won't reach the cap through normal growths. In ng+ you can get yard items that generate stat ups. However, if you really want to stat cap, it's faster to reincarnate them and abuse slime king in the deadbeat tower for easy releveling. Also, there are some enemies in a certain ng+ mission that always drop a specific stat up gem and respawn constantly.

If you kill the king slime at the top of the tower, that will be removed but that slime also does not respawn even if you restart the mission and gives tons of exp for attacking it. You can't reincarnate until ng+ so since using deadbeat tower is essentially easy mode, if you want to beat the game without using it then reload.

Depends. If you enjoy old adventure games and RPGs, you can play the earliest two entries in the series which came out in the late 80's/early 90's. The original Rance I has a workable translation and the remake of Rance II (Rance 02) has a decent translation as well. But it isn't necessary - there's a "digest" version of these games that basically sums them up for you and tells you all you need to know, so you don't have to play them. The Rance 1/2 Digest comes with Rance VI (it was created for newcomers to the series so they can understand who the characters are without having to play 20-year-old games)
Rance III has a real translation but it's also an old RPG. It's not exactly fappable and it's very old, the comedy can be funny and charming and I recommend the game, but if you can't handle old graphics then skip it. There is a remake, Rance 03, which is a great game in its own right but sadly there is no translation. If I were you I'd look up the plot to this game if you aren't going to play it, just so you understand what happens.
Rance IV is much in the same boat. The graphics are better and I think some of the CGs are actually fappable but it's still retro. However its plot is very self-contained, you don't really need to know much of what happens here other than the setting info they tell you in the intro video, funnily enough.
Rance 4.1 and 4.2 are budget games which were made during a troubled time for Alicesoft. They are completely optional, if you're a super fan like me you'll definitely play them but otherwise they can be skipped. Frankly, they don't bring much to the table and are a pain in the ass to even run.
Kichikuou Rance is like the Final Fantasy of Alicesoft. Alicesoft was pretty much dying, so instead of stretching out their flagship Rance series any longer, they blew their load and threw all their ideas and setting material into one final, huge game. The result was a masterpiece that saved the company. However, this game isn't canon. It's also made in the 1990s. It's a conquest game where you take over the world so it's kind of similar to Sengoku Rance in a way. I highly recommend it but if you just want to play the modern games, it's not necessary at all. Personally, it's best to go back and appreciate this after you play the modern games.
Rance 5D is a short game, originally it was meant to be a return to form for Alicesoft after a hiatus, and their first Rance game with truly modern graphics, but their project had lots of bad bugs, and after three failed attempts (5A, 5B, and 5C) they finally released this game. It's a quirky little thing, either you love it or you hate it. Since it has modern art the H-scenes are definitely fappable, but because it's basically a short game its plot is very self-contained and its combat system is simplistic. However, it comes in a bundle with Rance VI, it's translated, it's uncensored, so there's no reason not to at least try it. I'd give it a go just to learn about the characters in the story before you jump into the sequel:
Rance VI is the first proper modern Rance title. It's an actual full fledged RPG dungeon crawler with modern art and h-scenes. Definitely play this, and I recommend you play it before you play Sengoku Rance since it introduces a couple of characters. But it isn't strictly necessary, since most of Sengoku Rance's characters only appear in Sengoku Rance and aren't from previous games. Most anons found out about Rance through SR and played it first, so there's nothing wrong with doing that. But now that Rance VI has a translation there isn't really a reason to.
So TL;DR my recommended order:
If you like retro games:
I > 02 > III > IV > 5D > VI > SR > Slash! Thrust! Burn! (Side game made by a fan) > KR > 4.1/2 if you feel like it
If you don't:
Read 1/2 Digest > 5D > VI > SR > STB > KR

Okay, it's a bit janky, but I figured it out.
The password to open the partial patch ".rar" file is just Yugifan3 (case sensitive), the name of the guy that made the patch. Then inside the patch is a small file with no extension, don't be a pussy and just extract it then add the ".rar" extension to it. There is the patched files without any sort of password.
(Translator said he added a SaveBook item that allows for saves in places you shouldn't be able to save, it's a debug item, you're free to use it but be cautious).

You can choose to carry over all your items, levels etc. to NG+ if you want. I would suggest doing so for the first full playthrough from the start to NG+++ if you want the full experience and want to be able to do every quest. I mean honestly you should be able to get enough money without selling any of the treasures. If you have an excess of other materials from monster drops you can craft stuff like weapons to sell in your shop. There is also a kind of exploit. Once you get to the point in the game where you can buy Salve from the church, you can resell them in your shop for more. Just fill up shop and skip turns.
