Why should I choose a Raspberry Pie over a decent laptop for my emulation needs?

I've been emulating and retrogaming with the same PC I use to work since forever. Whenever I change my laptop, I use it for everything, but now I'm considering having one laptop for work and one for enterntainment.

Unless a Raspberry Pie has a lot of advantages over a laptop which would be used just for games, videos and music.

Buy a used Thinkpad (specifically an X1 Carbon) on ebay and you have a good laptop equipped with a 1080p display and decent emulation box for the price of a Switch
