A BR game is like a baby's-first-fps template project in an engine like unreal or unity. Slap in some stock/purchased assets and script the game rules. I'm exaggerating a little… but still, with the modern dev tools and middleware available it should be a really fucking simple type of game to make. PUBG could not have cost very much to develop.
And all some one had to do was put one together with a modicum of competence. It's still not even good on a technical level, merely better than those that didn't even try (H1Z1).

It also doesn't have a punishment for losing. You instantly get to start a new game and hope things go better this time. I was playing the Rush of Blood demo for PSVR, and within literally seconds of starting, I was already wanting to commit suicide. I twisted the guns around to look down the barrel and pulled the trigger. There was a nice blinding muzzle flash and sharp report that kind of hurt my ears because the volume was all the way up.
Sadly, nothing else happened. I guess the designers never stopped to consider that the game is so terrible that it might actually drive some of their players to suicide - even if just in-game. So you just keep firing the gun into your head to no effect.

Rust is the only modern game I really enjoy, despite how retarded (((Garry Newman))) and his band of kikes over at Facepunch are. It's the only game of its kind I know of that isn't a running simulator for 90% of the gameplay, and the rush of jumping other people and taking their shit is immensely satisfying.

I hate the "community" atmosphere in Rust. Everyone kills everyone at all times for zero reasons, even if there's nothing to loot off a body. There's no opportunity for organic formation of mutual cooperation, if you're not in someone's clan, you're the enemy, no exceptions. As an example, I remember spawning into a server and running into someone who spawned fresh right in front of me. They immediately ran and hid behind a rock, but I had nothing on me and had no interest in trying to harm them. So I ran around and made it obvious I wasn't planning on being a threat to him, and he walks out from behind the rock. Few seconds later, he kills the naked guy in front of him who isn't doing anything. Virtually all the players on all the servers are like that, and it's not a battle royale game, it's just open ended, there are no win conditions.
I'm not saying any of this because I can't get on top or anything. I've done it plenty of times, and it can be satisfying, but the whole persistent "fuck everybody all the time forever no questions asked" grates on my nerves. In addition to that is the added "stress" and annoyance of caring for any kind of permanent structures, where you're constantly worrying about whether someone is ransacking it while you're offline or if you hid it well enough.

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by killing people with less gear than you, they're walking loot deposits; furthermore, if you're the territorial kind of player, shredding nakeds keeps them out of your vicinity and stops them from getting established. Besides, why care if you die as a naked?

Naked are universally considered the most retarded players on the food chain, hence why they're nakeds. If you're looking for co-operation then look for people with low-tier armour and clothing, if not those with shops - they tend to be the nicest players. To be fair, it used to be a lot more friendly, at least until the streamers got to it. It's slowly been getting better though - the boys I've been playing with most recently have been building villages with apartments and shops for people to use, and while there are always a few bad apples, it's still great fun.

I guess everyone in Rust is retarded then, champ? Any new players who spawn in to a server they've never been on are automatically idiots. I guess the only way around that is to never spawn anywhere, making the only winning move not playing at all. Everyone's been naked at one point.

Rust players consider a naked player holding a spear or stone axe as not naked? It doesn't take much to craft cloth, assuming you can sprint around fields without getting shot at constantly, but a naked guy with a pointy stick is still naked.
