I use mid-standard file, with 100 Gain, 23 Vol, 22 Tone, 32 FX. It's heavenly. Very informative front-end feel. Weight transfer and tire scrub are clear as day. A bit light on low-downforce cars though. I won't tell you specifically which community I'm in, but it's in the results if you google "Project cars steam group"

Basically, the game wants to put out 1:1 FFB, which would be perfect on a Direct Drive wheel, but the mechanics of lower-end wheels can't represent the forces 1:1. Doing this test tells the game how to compensate for how the wheel interprets force. I had to do this for BeamNG because the FFB was janky and clippy and clacky. Afterward it was perfect.

I'm going to keep this new setup, no clips yet, and the curbs actually can be felt. Its probably a 30hz bump vibrate frequency on curbs, that's nice. Min force was at 12%, now at 0% so that might have helped.

Is this possible on PC2 also? Because I haven't touched it in almost a month. Or do I just go the Jack Spade mid-stand with your settings? I'll give that a shot tomorrow probably. Thanks for the help. Just gotta get used to the new FFB.

No problem! I don't think it's possible or necessary on PC2. There are some slight technical adjustments possible in Jack Spades files, but it's largely unnecessary. You might want to add some Volume to my settings if you like a heavier wheel, but give it a shot first as it is very informational in its own way.

Playing F-Zero for the GBA made me realize that the world needs more antigrav racing games.

I'm looking for sim racing games that are PLAYABLE with a gamepad. I tried Project Cars, Dirt Rally and iRacing and I couldn't find a good setting for gamepad no matter how much I looked in forums. It's a fun little arcade racer, it has alot of variety in terms of tracks and every region has 4 stages, one super special, and one epic stage that's 15+Km.

Car variety is lacking since it's all modern, but the simplistic physics and stage variety make it a good game to play when you have a controller handy and want something that's gonna be demanding but accessible enough that plays well with a controller.

There are a lot of things sims won't help you with, but I feel like knowing how everything interacts while driving can definitely translate to the real world. I played in AC today online at the Daytona track, with the GTLM/GTD cars after the real one finished. Was fun and there were 4 or 5 on sometimes, just a practice lap time. Well that, and the fact they decided to charge you for it, least from what I remember. The whole reason the original took off like it did was because it was free in an era when the only other racing games you could grab off the internet for nothing were cheap Chinese knockoffs of more popular titles especially Sega Rally that entertained you for about 5 minutes and abandonware from the 80s. Put a cost behind it and suddenly all you're playing is a mediocre sequel to what was and arguably still is a perfectly-executed modern-day adaptation of Slicks n' Slide.

Also unless there actually is an established mod community by this point, it's highly unlikely you'll ever see mods for it. Certainly not at the volume the original got. It came out at the right time and got shittons of free publicity for the best part of 2 - 3 years. This is effectively dead in the water before it ever launches and about the same level of irrelevancy as Insane 2.

1.05 was great for the longest time, then following the crash/exodus someone managed to obtain the source code which was then relocated among the most senior members of the community, who turned it into the 1.1x versions with the 64 bit support and new track objects. They should have left it at that, any more developments and they would risk discontinuity with a lot of the older addon content. They should never have chosen to work on a hamfisted sequel that immediately failed to recapture the lightning in a bottle that the original was from the second it was revealed.

or hell, they should just release the sauce so we can have proper flip physics or "realistic" damage (i.e. the nose gets bent out of shape and the wheels fly off), because there really is nothing else to do with the game at this point other than updating real life locations and cars/racing series

By the way, does anyone else unironically believe that GT Sport in its current form is the best one in the series since GT4 at least? The only real disappointing factor at this moment in time is the car list, but let's be honest no-one wanted to keep driving the same 3000 polygon "standard" models after how badly they aged in the previous gen.

My only major problem with it (aside from mandatory online) is that the soundtrack is absolute dogshit.

To be honest the major reason I'm a Team Forza guy now is the fact you can take on almost anything with a shitbox as long as you're good enough and unlike every GT post 4 (the best one in the series like you said) where it just becomes PROTOTYPES AND EUROSHIT: THE GAME towards the end. How much karting shit is in Sport out of curiosity?

The point is they did a horrible job at it. They didn't do anything to the models except make them slightly worse. They omitted cars from 4 that would have been fun to drive in the later ones (Model T, Benz Motorwagon) in favor of 5 billion Japanese sports cars that outsiders love to rib on the series with.

Yes, but Forza's quantity is backed up with quality. Every model released in the past several years is Autovista quality, and even the few that aren't are still far better done than PD's offerings. Not to mention the sheer variation that T10 has provided from the start.

Also there's hardly anything kart-related at this point in time, didn't even know there was a kart in the game until I won one as part of the license tests.
