Is there a specific title for when an enemy, usually a boss, explodes rapidly in succession upon being defeated, sometimes ending in one large explosion?
I really like this kind of thing, is there some easy way to search for enemies that are disposed of in this fashion?

Not an easy way, but you could peruse ripped spritesheets and search for that specific thing.

There really should be a video game equivalent to vndb, where there are tags for just about anything you can think of, and have separate pages for different releases of one game, including information on translations and localizations, etc. Screenshots as well. I love how easy it is to search for and filter shit on vndb.

I don't know what it's called, but I can name a few for you.
>Gunstar Heroes
>Dynamite Heady
>Alien Soldier
>All series in the original Mega Man timeline, except for classic, but sometimes also classic.
I think it's an anime robots thing.
