Yeh, I do think 4 got a little more over the top, but it still fits along with the general tone of MGS. Also, Raiden isn't much of a Gary Stu. The guy has a ton of mental hang ups that fuck with him, especially in 4 where after 2 he reverts more to his upbringing, removes the people in his life he cared about, and has horrible abandonment issues. He's a pretty interesting character imo and it was fun to see him any time he was on screen in 4. shame that fucking game never let you play it or it would be my favorite MGS.
