It is the best snake game, but not the ultimate. The physics are kind of wonky, especially around climbing and traversing horizontal beams, and tons of things are way too floaty. It's pretty difficult to control your tail in any way other than "follow the head".
There aren't any better snake physics in any game so far, but it could be done way better. I'd love a sequel that refines the controls.

The real problem is that you can't genuinely grip anything, Noodle can wrap his body tightly around things but there's no way for the game to understand that you're holding on to it. I almost stopped playing in Blo-Wee's world where the wind would blow you down a horizontal beam even when you're wrapped around as tightly as possible. It would be pretty cool to have an option to control the head and tail independently, other than just whistling for Doodle to save your ass.
