I'm looking at SRW thread and wondering.

Why there are so very few real time super robot games? Especially compared to overwhelming number of military robot games.

The genre is popular enough both in japan and in the west to warrant making toys and animes, so why no video games?

Apart from Robot Alchemic Drive, A.C.E.3 and SRW Infinite Battle I can't even come up with real time super robot games at all, and two of those are primarily military robot games still.

Well, there's Scramble Commander 1 and 2..but it's somewhat of a strategy as you command your mechs in real time…and I do mean real time.

The setting is very real robot, but the mechs themselves are super robots with a very thin coat of real robot paint applied. You get a fucking Stoner Sunshine-lite as a basic move from the get-go.
