Negative. GTFO is being made by the former designer of Payday 1 and 2. Supposedly he left because he hated the bullshit drill and safe microtransactions. He then formed a 10 man studio and now call themselves 10 Chambers. As for GTFO, sounds like they’re taking a page out of Vermintide and having better quality gear you can find to do harder missions. Also possible that the levels are tile based like Warframe, so the underground you’re in is always different. Still too early to really confirm that.

The problem with Vermintide’s loot system is there was absolutely no incentive to play anything other than the first mission or the dock mission to get gunpowder to get better gear. Even then, it was loot for the sake of loot. All it ever did was make things slightly easier to run through the exact same mission, only this time with a higher chance of something better. Repeat until bored. If GTFO is actually smart about it, and if we’re going on the basis that maps are random tile sets, then difficulty could result in simply much longer maps, and the better gear could theoretically result in higher ammo counts, damage, anything that could allow you to travel for longer periods. The longer the map, the better the gear.
